Brand Plaza Hotel - Hotel in Glendale - 339 1/2 N Brand Blvd, USA

Great time. Nice room. The service was great. Parking is a little crazy but we have an HC placard and were able to park in a parking garage behind the Hotel. They give you a discount on Parking at a lot that's a little ways away. We were lucky to get to park closer. There's a back entrance off the alley but beware it was built in 1924 and the 2 flights of stairs are a bit daunting at first because you're not expecting them. They really were fine. There's a keypad at the top of the stairs to get in and it was close to our room. A great place to stay if you're going to a Concert at the Greek.

I really want to give 5 stars, but there are a couple things that create the 4 stars. The main problem was the smell of rotten eggs in the water. It was stronger when the water first turned on, so I would run the water for a bit before brushing teeth or washing up. Unfortunately, it still smelled like it even after letting the water run for a bit. The second core issue was the fact the "1st floor" is actually up steep stairs, equivalent to about 2 flights of stairs. There is no elevator or any assistance to get luggage up the stairs. As a historical building, I understand it's close to impossible to add something like an elevator, but maybe adding an option for help getting stuff up the stairs would be a benefit. As a severe asthmatic, dragging luggage up the stairs was very difficult. Now, outside of those issues, I enjoyed the building. The address includes a 1/2 in it and the door from the street is relatively non-descript so it felt a little like a hidden home in Harry Potter. Plus, the building is old and the decor is themed to match a regal time. For cleanliness- this place was very clean. It doesn't seem that way on the carpet in the room because the carpet looks like it is dated to match the period (which seems unlikely since it's in such a good condition). I was wearing white socks and roaming around the room. My socks stayed white! There were some stains or possibly repaired parts that left a weird mark. That's the way it goes with specialty carpet. The bed was very comfortable. Some people complained about the smell of the pillows. I actually brought my own pillow because I wasn't sure if I would have an issue with potential allergies. You get to control the temperature, and the air conditioner worked great. The price was amazing for a holiday weekend, and it was close to the Alex Theatre where I was attending an event. It is within walking distance of the Alex Theatre (real walking distance, about a block and a half). Very convenient!

If you require more hotel amenities, go to Sheraton, it’s 3 star hotel don’t expect magic from them, you pay small amount of money just to take a hot shower and get a good sleep in cozy bed. Place is nice, on main Glendale Street, close to everything. Service very nice and professional, I had an issues with bath plugin and they came to fix it within 10 min, it’s clean, smells nice inside the building, everything you need for 2 nights. And Parking is not that far, you can park you car at the front get your stuff upstairs, move your car to their parking and then walk 2 min back to the hotel. You can calmly sleep because you feel safe. Best cheap Hotel I’ve ever been :)

This hotel is a hidden gem! It’s affordable in a nice safe part of town that’s very quiet. Lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops to walk to. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The room was a little small but worked for 2 people for a long weekend. There’s no elevator but other than that, we had no complaints! It’s a great central location to easily Uber to other tourist places. Highly recommend and would stay here again next time I’m in town!

Very nice staff. Rooms were very clean and upscale. You are in an upscale area of Glendale Very close to California 134 freeway but of course not close enough to hear any noise. Very quiet for a good night sleep. Walk to coffee shops, restaurants and drinking establishments. I recommend giving it a visit. Gary G.

Great location and nice clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel. I slept great. No elevator. Parking is about one block away for $8 a night. Hard to beat! Great value!

Cutest hotel in an amazing location. Arthur at the front desk welcomed us warmly, helped explain the parking and picked a room on the top floor just as we asked. Seems like an old historic building with loads of charm and warmth. The room is smaller as other reviews have said but it feels right.

The hotel doesn’t feature an elevator, which means guests will have to take the stairs. While this could be a setback for some, I found that the stairways added to the quaint charm of the building, giving it a more intimate and boutique feel. It’s a small detail that some may need to plan for, but it certainly doesn’t detract from the hotel’s many positives. The crowning jewel of the Grand Plaza, however, has to be the customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests’ experiences shone through, making it clear that they are passionate about hospitality.
