Brand lateral trail loop. It is a short trail, 2.7 miles, but very steep for the 1st 1 mile when you do hiking counter-clock wise. You can park your car in the Brand Park. It’s free. The park is closed at 10pm. There is beautiful city view when you go up there. The trail is closed one hour after sunset. Will visit there for taking night view of LA. It’s a perfect place for it
I’m a beginner hiker and I enjoyed this trail. Completed it with my pup in about an hour. Just wish I brought better traction shoes - it gets pretty steep at times. Great views. Not many other people on the trail either!
Beautiful but treacherous trail. Good traction shoes required! And wear a backpack so you can use both hands. We are adventurous people, but felt scared for the entire descent, which is narrow and very steep. Glad we made it to the end, but won’t be returning without a helicopter! :) the exit ramp off the trail was so steep we both had to laugh about how hard it would be without sliding down. Be prepared to be covered in dust and need a chance of clothes afterwards! Great parking and restroom facilities and a really beautiful location, otherwise.
You get a great cardio workout on the Seven Trees Trail. Steep and a bit slippery in places, good treads on boots definitely recommended. Both a loop trail and also extends beyond as a point to point. The loop is short, but it also connects to a trail that goes into the Verdugo network of trails. This trail makes a beautiful sunset hike. It's a peaceful overlook on the Burbank basin. At sunset you get to watch the lights pop on down below. If you start early and plan to meet up with friends who start up top, you all can join on the trail and loop back to one car. Then stop out for a bite before collecting the other car. The excellent Brand Library shares its parking lot with this trailhead.
It was a very challenging and fun hike. There is more than enough room for parking, so if you know you're gonna challenge yourself, you can pretty much park next to the entrance of the trail. The hike is ALL uphill and the steep terrain can be very slippery and difficult to navigate. This hike is not easy by any means and nike shoes are definitely not recommended. Once at the top, you have spectacular views of the Burbank, Glendale, and Griffith park areas. This trail even leads up to Mount Thom so if you're feeling extra adventurous, check it out. I definitely recommend.
Amazing view...... recommended to carry large lenses if you like to click magnificent view of valley.... Nice trail to hike with also with kids..... path is having stiff after 1st rest stop..... kids can go that's not a problem.... Wooden guard rails is also present in few area for safety.... Parking is not a problem, huge parking place is available in brand park..... LA downtown is visible from the left corner....
Loved the experience, there are many trail options according to your hiking abilities. Be wise which path you take. One of them is a tough one. Proper shoes are a must. Great view of the city.
It's my beginner tail I enjoyed very much I climb up this tail with my dad inn an hour
This can be a strenuous hike with a more or less continuous moderate to steep rise the whole way up. There are no significant shady sections or places to sit along the way, and it probably would be best to avoid it when it's 100°F, speaking from exp
