Bramble Park Zoo is an excellent zoo to enjoy lots of animals, local history, and a beautiful landscape. Visitors are welcomed by a small museum that focuses on the area's past.
Inside the zoo, they have a nice variety of animals (e.g. big cats, bear, primates, bison, kangaroo, sloth, etc.). They also have many playareas for kids to get out some extra energy and picnic areas. Not as exciting, they have plenty of shaded seating for the adults.
Pro tip: Take a photo of the map in the gift shop. They no longer provide paper copies.
I enjoyed this zoo very much! I saw animals I hadn't ever seen before. I was able to get closer to the animals than in some other zoos. I do wish the big cats had a little more room though. Staff working at the zoo were friendly. Restrooms were clean. We were able to walk the entire zoo in about 1.5 hours.
It was very enjoyable, well laid out, and super fun for kids! They can run and see all the interesting zoo residence. There is a fun park with activities for them to play in, and they can get close to animals they otherwise may never get to. The young girl at the gift center was very kind and polite, and the talking cockatoo was hilarious!
I love the zoo, I really do; but I believe something needs to change. I know they have the mist sprinklers, and that's awesome! But I think a few thing's should change. They should bring back the mining activity. They should definitely have more in the shops, and they should definitely change the animals exhibits. Nothing has changed exhibit wise, as far as improvements should be.
I get they love the animals, and take care of them, but everything is super old and needs to be changed. Welfare should be above and beyond in zoos, and this just doesn't cut it. The animals pace, and lay around, because there's not much else to do. The snapping turtle has little to no room to move, as do most animals, but that one is really sad.
I have loved this zoo for almost two decades, and I know funds are low. I feel like more items in the shops/etc would help that. I've already bought plaques for my family for the zoo, and I hope there's more options, more varieties to gain income to help fix this zoo.
It's still beautiful, still great, but still needs a change starting with more room for the animals.
We took our 4 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter. We not only enjoyed seeing the animals but they had fun hauling wood in the wheel barrows and playing in the different play areas. There's a lot to see and do!
The zoo always looks clean when I visit. The staff seems friendly. They have a decent amount of animals for a fairly small town. In rating this a 4-star based on the size and the expectations although you could almost give it a 5-star for that. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it's not a zoo you go out of your way for. It is a great place to burn a few hours while in town.
A great zoo for such a small town! Definitely worth bringing the kids too!
It's a nice a cute little zoo. Had a great and relaxing time walking around to see the animals.
Traveling with toddlers this was a GREAT stay. We got to enjoy the splash park all to ourselves, and it was open til 11pm! They even had water toys you could use during your time there. We were fascinated by how well built the water park was, the own
