Boxcar Burgers LI - Hamburger restaurant in Ronkonkoma - 90 Railroad Ave, USA

This is a great little spot for a quick bite. Walking distance to the trains, busses and airport. The decor is cute and rustic. There are a few tables to sit at. The food is reasonably priced, fresh, and delicious. The bacon is perfectly crispy. The place is busy yet organized and clean. I highly recommend it!

A single photo does not do this burger justice - not to mention the super friendly folks serving up all this goodness. If ever in the area, or not, stop by and you won't be disappointed. Also let's praise the $ of these burgers in todays age. Rock you guys!

This place is a must try when in Ronkonkoma or near the train station if looking for a juicy terrific burger. The vibe is nice and chill with great decor around. The guy taking orders is so nice and helpful. The burger itself was delicious and juicy. I enjoyed the simplicity of the burger toppings:grilled onions, pickles and ketchup; superb in itself. The chocolate-chip cookie was heavenly. I enjoyed a Shirley temple drink as well.

This Place was an amazing find. Food ordered and completed in a quick and timely manner, and the food was fresh, delicious and flavor you can't find in most burger places. Staff polite and courteous willing to help decide food choices. Highly recommend If in the Ronkonkoma area, and try out even if not. 5*

I got the Runaway burger and it left a lot to be desired. I took a bite expecting my juicy burger but I just tasted nothing. The chicken sandwich on the other hand was really good. The service was awesome everybody was really nice and working hard Finally if you're taking the train, it's a nice, affordable bite to eat before you get into the city. Because by the time you get into Manhattan and figure out what you're doing it's going to be nearing 2 hours

The service was good, they had an indie music playlist playing which made it feel cozy inside and the food was delicious! Much better than trying to get dinner from the hotel we stayed at from a price stand point, for sure! We got two runaway burgers and jalapeño poppers. The sauce that came with the poppers was so good, we even put it on the burgers! 10/10 will definitely be coming back

I was going to leave an honest 4 star review until I read some of the responses to negative reviews by the owner. They deserved one more star. The burgers are good. The cheese tots were crispy and did the job. I like the chopped up pickles and onions. The price is right. I think my biggest compliment is offering a smaller portion sized burger for a reasonable price. I have been saying this for years. Americans do not need 2 pounds of food on our plates. If you want more then order a double or a second burger. $5 for a cheeseburger is as good as it will get in today's economy. Go to McDonalds for a Big mac and fries for over $11 and it will not be the same quality of fresh beef they are serving up here. If you are going to pretend to be a writer for the NY Times reviewing a Michelin Star restaurant then you will probably find something to complain about. If you are allergic to everything but air then you will probably find a complaint. If you give the wrong name when ordering and expect the staff to figure it out, then you will probably complain and blame the "poor service" on the color of your skin. It's real simple. This place is a small burger joint at a train station. The food is good, the prices are great and the owners are clearly passionate about what they do. Don't complicate things. Stop in, grab a bite and support a local business. If you are cranky and love to complain, I understand they also give free hugs.

Went here during the great rainstorm we had to dry off and get some food with what I had in my pocket. Got the chicken nuggets and a large fry and I have to say it was delicious!!!! This is not on the business but just be aware there is a massive amount of construction across the street so parking near by can be meh ( also I went when the island got like 5 inches of rain ). The place is nice and warm and really cozy with plenty of seating for dinner rush. Will be back again.
