Boxcar Bakery is a wonderful place. The women that run it, along with their employees, are very kind and clearly hard working. Everything I've had whether it's sweet or savory, or even a drink, has been great. They have awesome seasonal delights as well as some "regulars" on the menu. It's also a welcoming environment whether you're there alone, with family or friends. Definitely my go to spot and I always bring my visitors there.
Can’t say enough to fully convey how amazing Boxcar is. The pastries are world class, the coffee is fantastic and the people are welcoming and wonderful. If you haven’t gone, go!
This is a great spot for a coffee and a treat. The chocolate croissant was delicious, the ham and cheese croissant, and the peach scone were all delicious. The wait for drinks was short and the staff were all friendly. Come for the Mocha, stay for the cozy ambience.
Great bakery with a variety of baked goods and a very large drink/coffee menu. We got coffee cake, a GF cookie, and a yogurt parfait along with some coffee and hot chai latte with oatmilk. It was nice to see so many GF options! The quality of the baked goods and drinks was incredible. The layout of the seating area was nice and the aesthic was warm and inviting. I appreciated the fast service and the kind staff!
Love this local bakery and coffee shop! They aren’t on Yelp which sucks as a Yelp elite person but I love the interior of the place. They have lots of different baked goods from cupcakes to quiches. The coffee was standard but they do have a lot of flavors such as peppermint mocha and gingerbread as their seasonal flavors. I also love it because the interior has lots of indoor seating with outlets and Wi-Fi. A gorgeous and thoughtful coffee shop with kind employees 😊☕️
This is a very fabulous bakery. My grandfather and I like to visit once a week. The pastries are exquisite and well made and the coffee is delicious. The employees are very kind and always remember us! the bakery and seating area itself is very cozy. What a wonderful addition to Essex Junction!
Best matcha in VT! The barista at Boxcar absolutely slays. Their pastries are also delicious and the space is beautiful.
The ham and cheese croissant, and peanut butter cup cookie were both delicious. The maple latte was tasty and the large was generously sized. Friendly and efficient the staff, and a bright welcoming space. This was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

I've been a regular here for two years. Outstanding food and service every time. I gravitate towards their naan and curry dishes. Lots of great vegetarian options. Just understand that they do get very busy during peak dinner hours.
