Don't Waste Your Time... From my "phone-in" order til the unveiling of my platter, I felt like this place let me down yall! Menu price hikes; Below par customer service; For the employee who threw his up at my disappointment- You're at the "face" of the business, because he was the only employee present. I waited almost 40min for a "Fried Fish Sandwich & Fries". I typically would let this go, but No effn way! You GETTING folks out here with $15 fish sandwiches- claiming SOUL Food. It's disrespectful & so is this poor excuse of a sandwich. When was the last time you saw "cherry tomatoes & spring mix greens" dressed with a fish sandwich sir, ma'am, or non gender conforming. You need to do better. If my father wasn't hungrily waiting- I would have sent it back!

The staff was great! The owner was even very welcoming and friendly to everyone. The food was great. I had the smothered turkey wings and cabbage. My cousin had the catfish. It was all very good. I will definitely be going back to check out the their Thursday night karaoke. This spot is a hidden gem, definitely for the mature grown ups.

3.9 on a good day! Adequate trained staff with more people in the kitchen, and this place could probably be 5 stars! The food is good, not going to lie, but you will WAIT at least 15/20 minutes to order and another hour before you get it. So, if you don't mind waiting, give it a try!

I truly wanted to give a better rating but I was not impressed. The atmosphere could use an upgrade. The service was OK, they were very nice and accommodating but staff needs to stop being loud. Their conversations could be heard and were not for the restaurant. The food was OK and I mean just ok. First of all its served in a take out tray. Yes a take out tray, even though we dined in. 🤔 Secondly, I could taste that the chicken was cooked in burned grease, my cabbage, rice and gravy had no flavor; the corn bread was OK though I think it was store bought. 😬 The liver and onions were OK but not what you expect when you think of soul food. Very little flavor. So for me Bowman's is a no. I don't recommend this place at all. But just so you know they were quite busy with takeout orders. I guess that's why it took nearly 45 minutes to get our food. So if you have time to waste waiting for bland food give them a try.

Upon walking in, the hostess walked right past us and we had to ask to be seated. We waited for our food for ten minutes while it was sitting on the counter. On the menu the “chicken and waffle” was 1 waffle and 2 chicken tenders. What I received was this, not to mention my chicken was NOT fully cooked and my waffles were very light, no crisp at all. They didn’t even taste as if they were cooked thoroughly. Horrible customer service & the people next to us told us they were having a bad experience as well, this is not no soul food.

Place was highly recommended however I feel a little let down when we went in, place is a little dated and could use an updated with out changing the overall fell cause it feels good. We had shrimp & grits, fish, mash and collard greens were OK but not what you expect when you think of soul food. Very little flavor if im being honest. Overall I wanted to give a better rating but I was not impressed, I won’t write them off totally cause everyone has a bad day but I will def be trying agin..

I've been back since my first review and still enjoy the food just as much! I highly recommend the honey glazed catfish! It was amazing! First time coming here and I loved it! I loved the atmosphere on Friday. The DJ played some old school R&B throwbacks which is my type of music. Not to mention the food was amazing! Nice home cooked feeling! Will definitely be back.

It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where everything was just right. All the way down to the music. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the food was hot when it came out. Definitely will be returning.
