Bourbon Bandstand - Featured Reviews (714)
Had a great time Christmas night the band was rocking and the bar tender ( Shauna aka gypsy ) was very friendly and quick with the drinks.
Bourbon Bandstand is engaged in a common scam in cahoots with vendors of shots who walk up and down the street and in the bars. These young women walk around with boards of some sweet shots and try to peddle them. I said no, was actually drinking water and listening to a good band. Then, a few minutes later, some other girl comes and asks to dance. So I say okay, why not, and we dance a little. The shots vendors shows up and the dancing girl asks if she can get a shot. Dumb me says sure, and the dancing girl proceeds to down a bunch of shots in front of me. Then I get presented with a bill for almost $100. It is late, I don't want to cause a scene, so I give the vendor my card and she goes and runs it with the bar. Then she says she is going to get my receipt and of course never shows up again. Beware of this scam and say no to randoms who ask for shots or to dance with you. I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. I did not order the shots, did not consume any of the product, and did not get a receipt though I asked for it. I am sure the bar is well aware of this scammy practice of extracting money from unsuspecting folks listening to music in their establishment. The music is good, and it attracts people inside your bar. No need for scams, sell honest drinks instead, this is how you destroy your reputation. You made $100 extra that you split with the operators of the scam, but you also bought yourselves this review.
The band, Under the Influence, was truly incredible. They made the night. However, the drinks here are watered down and simply not good. When I asked the bartender if she could make a mojito, she gave sweetened club soda with lime, saying “it’s a mojito without mint”. Not a hint of alcohol in it, and certainly not a mojito. I asked her to fix it by adding blackberry liquor or orange liquor, but she wouldn’t do it saying “that’ll be extra”. The “sprite” I received was $13. I paid for it and left the full drink at the bar.
At $10 a shot or $17 for a small mixed drink I recommend staying clear of drinking here as those prices are outrageous! They also add service fees onto your tab. The only saving grace is the free live music. Without this the place would get 0 stars. Women's bathroom is not handicap accessible as it is on the second floor. Men's is as it's on the first floor.
Super cool place we ended up spending a decent amount of time here. They have outside and inside seating at well as upstairs and balcony seating. For sure would go back to this place if ever back in New Orleans and recommend you stop by yourself if around. Drinks and service also was great and alot of dancing going on.
It was such an amazing time to enjoy her powerful vocal! Loved it.
Six musicians, great music, plenty of area to move around, no cover charge, and seating if you need it. The band, Under the Influence, rotated through members every few nights but kept up the quality.
Bartender offered great service. Music was very entertaining!

Delicious fresh sushi. The lady there can make some dang good rolls! On top of all that, itâs affordable. There are some items not on the menu but if you voice what you want to the chef, she will happily oblige. Great service as well. Iâd highly
So Iâm not a fan of malort, but the pumpkin flavor they do for fall is pretty fantastic. Great locals bar with a good dive bar atmosphere and drinks.
If I were forced to name the one quintessential New Orleans dive bar, the Chart Room would have to be at the top. Great and very friendly service, liberal pours and a great grungy atmosphere. This place has it all. This is a cash only bar, but with a
I have performed here and worked here. Very cool place, very cash money. I beat the world famous Chuck at the world famous Cafe Istanbul 9 times in one night in chess - Chuck runs the place. It's really endearing to see how hard everyone parties too

This was one of my favorite museums during my visit. I learned so much. Didn't know about the free People of Color in Louisiana. Imagine if they had been allowed to thrive... how different America would be today.
