I don't want to be unreasonable-- just honest. I was very disappointed in the services I received from Boonsboro Computer. After researching many places in the area, I came here to get my Macbook's cracked screen repair (wanting to support local businesses rather than commercial ones). What was supposed to be a 4-day job turned into 3 weeks. I was called to bring my computer in because my new screen had arrived. It was the wrong number and I had to turn around and pick it up again. After I did drop it off, I had to follow up and call to ask if it was ready after more time passed, only to be told that a cord had accidentally been severed in the repair process and my computer had been sent to NY to be fixed (I was not informed of this-- and it is quite a large liability to not notify and have a customer give consent before sending their device away). I just wonder if I would have been called or told all of this if I had not called and asked myself. Once I did receive my computer back, it had several nicks and scratches on the lid that were not previously there, and I can see what look like tool marks on the edge of the screen from where it must have been taken off or applied. There's residue along the edge and it just looks dirty. I've had this computer for 5 years, and have kept it in very good condition-- never even had a cover on it, just kept it in a sleeve. And after using it for a few weeks, it does not seem to hold its charge as well. It makes me sad every time I take it out to use and I regret taking it here. I know accidents happen, and I did receive about $50 off labor costs (which, I'm thankful for, but the more I've thought about it, the more frustrated I am because I honestly don't feel that has made up for the lack of professionalism this experience exhibited). I'm still catching up on work I missed. I wasn't going to bother leaving a review, but every time I see my computer, I get a little frustrated and just didn't want anyone else to have the same experience. Again, I understand accidents happen, but I can only empathize to a point. I gave two stars instead of one because in the end, my screen was fixed and I did receive a small discount.

My first experience with this business was last week. My son's laptop was having an issue with the hard drive. I was pretty sure that the drive was bad but just wanted to confirm that before opening the box on a $150 replacement. I stopped by to see if Boonsboro computer could offer any advice. They did much better than that. I brought the drive with me and the helpful gentleman was able to test it for me and tell me that it was in the beginning stages of failing. He recommended replacing with an SSD and even went to the trouble a finding one to show me what he would recommend. He spent way more time with me than he should have but I left there confident knowing that replacing the drive was necessary. I installed a new one and it works perfectly. This is the kind of help and advice that you rarely get when dealing with problems. Boonsboro computer is helpful and realizes that it is just good business to help people out. Though they got nothing out of this, I will be back when I have an issue I cannot solve myself. Also, I will recommend them to anyone that I can. Great business!

My experience with Boonsboro Computer has been nothing less than excellent. Chris is knowledgeable, takes the time to diagnose a problem and explain all issues. Tremendous value and always a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Prompt, professional service. I brought in a desktop that crashed and Chris ran some tests to pinpoint the issue before reinstalling Windows and restoring all the files. Great to know there is someone local we can trust.
