Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q - Barbecue restaurant in Fruit Cove - 100 Bartram Oaks Walk, USA

We live in St. Johns and normally drive the 30 extra minutes to go to another Bono’s location to avoid this one but since we had a long day we figured to give this location another try since it’s so close to us. When we received our order my bf took one bite and realized his pork was dry, I also tried it and agreed. My bf told the waiter which responded with that he didn’t know what to do so he’d let someone else know. The manager came to our table and it was the same thing….he offered my bf another pork sandwich so my bf asked if the pork would also be dry and the manager said “he didn’t know” and offered if he can bring him chicken instead. We ended up asking for a refund and can hear the employees talking about us behind the counter. The woman at the front didn’t make eye contact with us as she was giving us the receipt, I simply thanked her and she didn’t say a word. We didn’t create a scene and just simply wanted what we were paying for. We ended up driving to the other Bonos location in Neptune Beach and the food was delicious and the staff was friendly like always. Unfortunately, we won’t be visiting this Bono’s again anytime soon.

This is the best Bono’s! I have been eating at this Fruit Cove location for probably 20 years. The staff is always friendly and does a great job. The food is always yummy and fresh. We really love to order curbside from them. It’s always a nice dinner treat!

What an amazing night with this crew! They were the most attentive, caring, and delivered the best dishes tonight! This is, hands down, the best BONOs out there! We will be back frequently!

First time I have been in Bono's Fruit Cove and it felt like real home style restaurant! It was comfortable and the server had a fantastic smile which made ordering a pleasure. I was tired from running errands and I pointed to the brisket sandwich with the fried green tomato an the young took it from there. I will be going back to Fruit Cove again!

This restaurant has fair prices and friendly staff/service. The food is good and served fast. I typically order the pulled pork or the turkey platter. In my opinion, places like Bonos/Woodys/Sonnys are basically the same. If I'm truly craving BBQ, I tend to visit places like 4 Rivers, Woodpeckers or Mojos. Having said that, Bonos is still decent option if you a looking for a quick BBQ meal.

The portions have become border line pathetic . I understand cost is high everywhere but even with that being said we got a tiny amount of meat and sides . Also the brisket was like jerky it was so tough . Orders the 3 meat platter large this is a 27$ item so why do I have what looks like scraps left over from the pit ? Bono’s is just not what it used to be this location really disappointed

Stopped in with several people. The meal itself was okay, not impressive nor noteworthy. The tables were sticky, as was the floor. We had to clean the table off ourselves. I’d say nearly average experience, but I’ve been to other Bono’s that have been far better with cleaning and their food was prepared better.

This is one of the best Bono's in the Jax area. It's just what you'd want. The meat was delicious, and the service was fast and friendly.
