Fantastic, Crispy Korean Chicken!
Setup -- planned to get a few slices at Joe's Pizza on way back to Midtown, but lines were insane, so had our eye on this earlier, but was closed. SO glad we stopped in!!
Food -- big menu and so many things I would have loved to try, but went with Korean fried chicken combo that included 2 drums and 4 wings. Went with the super spicy option and this was heaven on a plate! Not exactly how sure they get it so crispy, but would love some tips for frying wings at home. The breading is tasty, yummy, and perfect bite of spice. It almost has a faint touch of sweetness to it, but the spiciness balances it perfectly. The ranch was not the greatest, but who cares with how amazing this food tastes.
B got the tacos and she got more then she thought. She was assuming the chicken tacos would come out fairly small as most restaurants serve. Nope. They were huge and there were four! These were also great, hitting the taste buds just right. Even though I highly recommend sticking with the chicken, this is also a yum option.
Drink -- standard drink menu. Went with a Sapporo and not sure its ever paired as well as it did with this awesome chicken.
Service -- super helpful and friendly waiter. Happy to explain menu and make recommendations. Very prompt in attending to any needs.
Vibe/Scene -- seated by host behind the bar by calling to waiter in empty tables. Upstairs and downstairs seating available. Simple and straightforward and that's all thats needed when your food is this good.
Value -- excellent value. Wouldve happily paid more of needed for the quality and taste of this food, but extremely reasonable, something you don't see a whole lot.
Summary -- if you're a fan of fried chicken, make a stop ASAP!!
Amazing Fried Korean chicken, honestly one of the best style fried chicken by far. It has this textured bite with a crunch that make you wonder how they did it. The sauce was real tasty, not overly sweet or tangy. Highly recommended. Not your traditional or southern fried spot.
Great mostly to go Korean Fried chicken and more!!! I love going here for lunch to grab some wings or boneless spicy Korean fried chicken. They have a great lunch special and you can get a mix of spicy and soy garlic. The Tuesday taco special (I believe it’s three chicken or bulgogi tacos for $10) is great!!
We had Bonchon in Thailand about 8 years ago and have talked about it ever since. So we were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon it in NYC.
We got the lunch deal which runs till 2.30pm and gets you 10 wings and a side. We went for boneless half n half (5 garlic and soy, 5 spicy). The spicy ones for us were really spicy, I was sweating but good. If I went again I'd probably just go for garlic and soy.
The highlight for me was actually the seasoned fries. The seasoning is so good, tastes like chicken salt you'd get in a place like Red Rooster in Aus. The chips were actually cold but I didn't mind because they were so flavoursome.
I wouldn't dine here it you're looking for something fancy, it's pretty casual but serves its purpose well.
The service is always the best here. So nice and polite, I always go with my daughter who at the time of this was only 2 and they were so friendly with her. Food is always done quickly and taste soooooo fresh. Everything about this place is amazing
Is OK. Garlic soy chicken bibibamp with simple ingredients mushrooms, carrot, egg, lettuce and quinoa 🫤. Nothing special
I went for lunch and got the combo lunch special that comes with 4 wings and 2 drumsticks with a side of fries. I also got a side of white rice and a coke. I got half regular sauce and half spicy. The spicy sauce was indeed very spicy, spicier than other restaurant spicy foods, but delicious. The regular sauce was delicious, too. The chicken was fried perfectly, very crunchy outside and juicy inside.
The service was great. My waiter was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was clean and neat. I would return for dinner and $2 beers in the future for sure.
Also, the lunch special had a very good price. Combo, with the side of rice, and coke came out to $19 and change. Not bad for the amount of food and location.
Coming back from a college tour and wanted to try Korean chicken. The pork buns were quite good and the fries were seasoned perfectly. We ordered the wings/drumsticks medium combo with soy garlic and spicy sauce. The spicy sauce was much better with interesting spicy/sweet taste. Overall it was very delicious👍
One of the best asian restaurants around the locality. I wanted to eat vegetarian so they were able to accommodate me and remove meat and change broths to make it vegetarian. Love the vibe and the servers are prompt and super helpful in recommending
