This was my first time camping at Bolding Mill. Since it is a Corp of engineers location, the cost is very low compared to a private campground. The bath house is an older building but was clean and functional. There was also a washer & dryer. The grounds were nice and maintained when i was there in late August. Many of the sites are waterfront and nice sized. The driveway is concrete with a gravel/sand pad where the picnic table and fire ring are. There is also a nice fishing pier, just a short walk from the road. It was nice to go out in the late afternoon for a walk with the pup. There has been a staffing shortage lately, and some campgrounds were closed. Big thanks to those who are caring for these sites so we can enjoy them!!
We love this campground and have camped there for years. However, due to decreased funding from the federal government, the grounds and facilities are slowly degrading. We just camped there last week. The common grounds are pathetic. There were weeds growing in the common (what used to be grassy areas) there were as tall as I am. Even the flower bed at the entrance of the campground had head high weeds. All of the kids playground equipment is non-functional. Bathhouses, although clean, need some serious renovations and maintenance. Many of the COE campgrounds on Lake Lanier are not even open due to inadequate funding. Everyone needs to lean on their government representatives to provide more funding.
This is a pretty location with extremely rude gate attendants, they berate you on check in, after letting them know I am checking into site # they ask why am I here and who am I visiting. Then I tried to give it a pass, (everyone has bad days) extended one more day due to unforeseen weather issues. Went to receive a new pass and was spoken to rudely again demanding that I turn in my old pass before receiving a new pass for the exact same spot. I have health concerns that do no make it easy walking to the gate and my vehicles is attached to my tent so therefore would have to be broken down for driving. The attendant was made aware of this and states rules are rules bring me your pass because I won’t give you the new one without it. Just could have Been handled so much better and giving a positive feeling here, but they have made it pretty clear that’s not their goal.
We have stayed here numerous times over the years and it's still a beautiful and quiet place to camp. I have to agree with the others regarding the mowing though, they are just doing a strip around the pad. We stayed on site 19 this time and it has a path with easy access to the lake, most sites don't! The lake is a little down, so there is a beach area at this access point, but as the water rises this would not be accessible as it would be under water. The sides have a lot of rocks which can damage a boat or PWC.
I rate this a 1 star only b/c there wasnt an option for 1/2 star. If i had expected a salty, abrasive welcome to the weekend I would have gone home instead :)... beyond rude upon every encounter! Bring your own weed eater if u want to access your firepit, electric meter or h20 spigot. The most insane part is, and this is no joke, they will LOCK you in camp at 1030 pm nitely behind a gate and no contact # provided in the event of emergencies. Gate will be opened at 7 am'ish. I was told 'safety trumps emergencies'... how is that even legal whether its private, public or federal is beyond me. Add lock cutters to your over nite bag.
The park is pretty, the bathrooms are tidy. But the front gate staff is plain rude. They make up rules as they go and berate you just for trying to check in. Very disappointed in what could have been a very great two days.
The beach is to The left of the entrance to the campground. The beach is concrete and in the water it is slimy and slippery. A no go! We were looking for a sandy beach for two toddlers. The path from the parking lot has no steps. I did see an old picnic table.
To call these people HOSTS insults my intelligence!!! These are guards and should be wearing badges!!! Rude and condescending attitude! It’s obvious no consequences for bad behavior! I didn’t come to a park to get stressed.

I have been coming to Gainesville Burn Boot camp for almost 4 weeks now (I took advantage of the one month trial promotion they have going for $69). The first day I walked through the doors, they made me feel so welcome. Their workouts are fun and c

Beautiful place to eat and wonderful food! We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast with great service & food. My friend commented that her omelette was the best sheâs ever had at a restaurant!
