As someone from the Carolina's who doesn't know brisket, I am sad to say, but I have had better. Overall the brisket is dry for my taste. My philosophy is if you need to put sauce on it to moisten it, it is too dry. Turkey is good, the beans are good, and the Mac n' Cheese is a bit below average in my opinion. Overall, not bad and not great.

I was very disappointed. While the food was on point and great as usual, my complaint is the little amount of sauce I received. I spent nearly $100 in food and received probably 3oz. of sauce. Disappointed to say the least.

Another Texas Monthly joint down. I’m now at 20 places out of the 50. This one definitely lived up to the hype of the #4 ranked place in Texas. The brisket was so succulent. The sausage had a sweetness to it. Almost like a breakfast sausage. The Dr. Pepper Pork Belly Burnt ends we’re amazing and could have been a dessert on its on with how sweet it was. The turkey was moist. My only disappointment was finding out they no longer serve the Toffee Bacon Candy. It left when Scott left. Sad day. Bodacious (specifically this one) is worth going to.

Holy smokes! It'd been 35 years since I'd been here. I've moved all over the country since then and settled in Houston. I finally decided to take the road trip to Longview just for Bodacious. It was Phenomenal!!! That first bite of brisket almost brought me to tears. And the turkey was incredibly flavorful. The potato salad was the best I've ever had in my life! Thank you, Bodacious! Keep doing you!

Great spot! Our friends took us here for lunch. This is one of the spots they eat at. Friendly staff! My picky eater enjoys the ribs even though he's not a rib lover. 😋

We flew 240 miles to come eat here because it’s that good. I’ve eaten here many times in the past when traveling for work and decided to fly in this most recent visit for pleasure. The food was excellent as always. I got a 3-meat plate that came with 2 sides, plus free beans. They also have onions, pickles, etc… out for customers as well. The portions are HUGE and the food was even better than I’d remembered. The staff was friendly and the dining area was very clean.

What's not to love about Bodacious? The staff are friendly, the restaurant is classic and unique, and the food is amazing. There's a reason that Texas Monthly rated Bodacious BBQ in the top 5 BBQ joints in the state (and, let's be real, we all know the best BBQ in the world comes from Texas, so functionally that's top 5 in the world). Their brisket is of course fantastic, as is everything else on the menu. A personal favorite of mine is the Mel-Man, which has brisket and sausage chopped together. If you're in Longview and haven't been, then get up and get going. If you're just driving through on the interstate, then know that some of the best Texas BBQ is just a couple miles off I-20 and definitely worth the detour!

Bodacious was listed as the #4 BBQ joint in the entire state of Texas, and my most recent trip affirmed why. Pitmaster Bryan Bingham is doing incredibly good BBQ, with brisket that is savory with a beautiful, dark, rich bark. The ribs are tremendous with a sweet finish. They also specialize in doing tons of different specials, from a variety of sausages to burnt ends done in some amazing sauces. Do yourself a favor and go see them!
