Peaceful first trip out on the lake for the season! My only thought is there are a couple of areas where some dredging should be done to lessen some of the heaviest weedy areas.

A nice little lake beach on Random Lake. The water is much warmer and safer for swimming than Lake Michigan, but it is not quite as nice. Still, this is a great spot for young children. Lake is small, relatively shallow, and calm. There are usually a lot of power boats on the lake and there is a public boat launch. You have to pay to use it. Parking is a bit of a rip off at $5 per day for "non residents", but you can park for free on the street one block west of the pay lot. All the streets immediately adjacent to the park have "no parking this side of street" signs on BOTH sides of the street. If you are OK with a short walk, you can park for free. I do not wish to complain about the town collecting revenue from people who use the beach, boat launch, and park. I am sure that the money collected goes to upkeep of the park and facilities. $5 is very reasonable for the day, and if you are spending the whole day there you should pay. However, if you only be plan on spending a couple of hours there $5 may not be worth it. The beach area can get very busy and crowded on a hot summer day; that, along with heavy powerboat traffic on a small lake can make the experience a little crazy and overstimulating.

Nice lake. Small beach (sand with rocks. ) swings for the kids, benches and picnic area. $5 parking lot entry fee for the car. There is also a free public parking lot close to the library. First time and I liked it.
