We booked the reservation and listed the people staying with us (4 adults...myself and my husband and my parents, oland our 12 year old triplets). We also specified that we had two small dogs with us (a pug and a small mixed breed). We paid a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the reminder email we received the day before checking in, which reflected the balance due as the remaining 50% ($290). ||We arrived at 4pm on Sunday, July 7th and we're told that the room we booked (3bedroom apartment) was not sanitary and we would need to upgrade to two rooms to accommodate us. This would cost an additional $150. We were not hally about it and saw others entering the room that we thought we booked. It looked like they double booked and then forced us to upgrade. ||We were also told that the room was not ready. We went to the room and there were people eating inside of it. We were not able to get into the room until 6pm and we were very frustrated as we wanted to spend the hour on the beach since we were only staying for two nights. ||Upon entering the room we found a disaster. There were melted electrical sockets, beds that have nit been replaced in 50 years, a shower that did not open unless tmypu had someone else there to help lift the door while pulling out. There was hot water and cold water, but no mixing of the two to get a warm shower. The drain in the shower was broken, the entire water supply to the shower shifted 3 inches from side to side. The sink did not drain unless you took put the stopper, the toilet ran all of the time, he TV did not work, the microwave did not work, and the refrigerator only frozen items. There was a lofted bunk bed that no one could use because it shook and moved so much we felt it was unsafe for a child to sleep in. The towels smelled terrible and we had to use our dirty beach towels and use the shower next door. |The second room had air-conditioning in one room, but not the other and the sink did not drain at all. The baseboard trim was also falling off and there were bugs squished on the bathroom walls. ||There was no privacy and the landlord or cleaning staff would enter the unit without warning numerous times. We continually locked the outside door, and they continually entered with a key and without knocking. I was stepping out of the shower and came out to a random man standing in the walkway as I was in my underwear. |We complained about all of this and nothing was done. Last night a worker came by and said they needed to add a pet fee. We inquired about all of the broken, unsanitary, and unsafe items in the unit and we're told that the pet fee would be waived. ||Upon checkout, we were told that a $160 fee for the dogs was added on. This fee was not mentioned at booking, when speaking on the phone with them the day prior to checking or when checking in. Everyone there was smoking on the deck or in their rooms and the stench was horrific for everyone in my party. ||What was supposed to be $290 remaining balance was turned into $940.05. ||We are a family of five who traveled four days to share our love of Seaside Heights with our children and their grandparents and had the worst vacation experience of our lives. This is not the family friendly shore we remember coming to (as recently as 2018). What is going in New Jersey and how can there be no standards for licensing rentals?

NOT AS ADVERTISED!!! If it was possible to give negative stars I would. The only great thing about this place was that it was right in the boardwalk. The door was missing a part of locking , which did not let me sleep well through the night to lock the door you push your finger through the hole as the ghetto place it is. The toilet was leaking, not hot water, beds were broken, and so freaking uncomfortable. On top of everything we find “poop” on the walls next to the small bunk bed, when we claimed, the front desk guy smirked and didn't even offer an apology or switch rooms, we asked how a cancelation works and he said no cancellation if you cancel do it through Priceline, when we called them they only offered a credit of 15% of the trip $75.00 that not even cover my chihuahua’s fee; so we ended up staying the two nights and left right away. This was easily one of the nastiest motel I've ever stayed at, website is misleading. Do yourself a favor and sacrifice a few steps and book something else a block from the boardwalk. We definitely won’t be staying here again. Stay almost anywhere else!

I was not expecting much after looking at the reviews - I was so wrong and we enjoyed our stay 100%. The room was exceptionally clean, that was what I wanted. The location is directly on the boardwalk and our second floor room allowed us to view the ocean, boardwalk and Ocean Terrace (main road). There are two options for free parking, in the small lot of Boardwalk Hotel Charlee or one right across the street. We arrived at 4:30 PM and check in went smoothly, unpacked and got to room (10). As you walk in there were three double beds and a TV, no chairs, night stands, or table. As you walk through that room you enter a kitchen area with a double bed, and a small bathroom (toilet, sink, shower). The kitchen was suitable, small bench table, a gas stove, microwave, large coffee pot, and relatively small refrigerator. There was only one pot, no silverware or coffee cups. We called the front desk and they actually brought us everything we needed, including a toaster. I later found out that people tend to walk away with hotel property, sad. We had breakfast in the room everyday, lunch on the beach most days and dinner out 4 nights of our 7 night stay. Management provided us extra towels, as the four in the room did not cut it. They also provided us bags of ice anytime we wanted it and amenities as well. Listen folks - I am use to staying at 5 star Marriott's but know what the Jersey shore has to offer. All four of us were totally happy with our accommodations. We did come prepared by bringing storage bags, plastic utensils, dish soap, sponge and food. I was very impressed with the team at Surf and Sand, Jordan the manager was fantastic, caring and so accommodating, top notch. Mohammed worked the evening shift and again was so outgoing, checked on us all the time, he was so professional. Please give both hotels a chance, they deserve it. This photo is from just outside our door.

My parents (82 years old) and my family of 5 decided 2 book 2 rooms at this location July 5-6, 2024. My nephew was turning 17 so it was to be an enjoyable weekend to celebrate his birthday in Seaside. While checking in, everything went smoothly. Only issues with room were clogged air conditioning filters (fire hazard) , missing shower grate (safery hazard) , 3 bugs.that crawled out of the electrical outlet. The gentleman showed us spots outside the office where we could park and a parking lot we could also use if it was too crowded. Only issue with that was, neither the parking spots or lot are legal patches spots. We were told both were free parking. The following morning, there was a ticket on my truck in his approved free spot. Off course, he denies everything. Later that evening around 1130pm, my elderly parents are awakened by the management to move their truck from the "free" parking lot to another location. Total disrespectful and the worse property managers I have ever come across. Prior to out departure on the 7th, I just happened to see a few police officers and asked about the ticket. I was in the wrong, but mislead. Nice discussion which ended with an interesting fact. Apparently, this establishment does this parking scam with all the patrons who book rooms. They advertise free parking and knowingly can't accommodate that. So they do exactly what they did to me. Commit FRAUD. Your establishment will be reported to the better business bureau. People work very hard for their vacations to happen and you.have no right to use them. Fraud is a serious issue.

This place is actually the worst motel. Paid 900 for a room for 6 and stuck us in the basement. They also have mold everywhere. This place reeks like dog piss and should be abolished. This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed in my life. Can’t even handle a simple task.

I took my chances on this motel because of its location right on the boardwalk. Well was I disappointed! The check in went smoothly, he even let me park there early until the room was ready. The rest went downhill from there. I walked in and the TV was on which I thought was weird. Found out later it was because if I went to use the remote and you couldn't use it to turn it on or off or use the volume buttons. I can only change the channel. There were three beds in my room even though I was traveling solo and Only needed one bed but that's when I knew this was not going to be good. A room with three beds in it and seaside heights reputation only meant that this was a party motel. All the beds were disheveled as though they never changed anything. I inspected the place and found two pieces of chewed gum in two different areas. Half of a spoon with something on it and some other piece of plastic, hair on the floor. Dirt on the floor and plenty of sand on the floor. Oh and also the old hair in the shower which always creeps me out. No I did not complain to the manag er cuz I never liked to complaining about anything and I couldn't imagine even if they moved me to another room that it would be clean either cuz obviously somebody who cleans here doesn't know how to clean. By the way I smells no cleaning agents which is odd cuz I usually do. I left the room to spend my day at the beach. When I got back from dinner about 8:00 p.m. there were tons of people on the porch, both at my hotel and the hotel next door which is also owned by them and we share a parking lot. Everyone was drinking and smoking which I expect a little of this except this went on until 4:00 a.m.. oh also loud cars that sounded like they were drag racing kept flying by. Earlier I was going to complain that the air conditioners were ridiculously loud. However, they may have helped me get the approximately three hours sleep. I managed to get the first night. By 4:00 a.m. I had enough of the partying and the noises and the uncomfortable beds that I left and gave up my second night and forfeited my $120. I just called the hotel to let them know that I left so they can give the room to someone else and why I left and all I got was a OH not we're so sorry that we like to refund you your second night or anything. So once again if you're looking for a place to party with no rules whatsoever or if you're blind and can't see dirt or deaf and can't hear people then this is the place for you. If you are mature and have money to spend anywhere else, I'd suggest doing that.

Pretty much the only great thing about this place was that it was right in the boardwalk and that you had the perk of staying next door to the Jersey shore house! I booked the 1 bedroom apartment suite. The door was missing a part of the locking mechanism, which did not let me sleep well through the night. We were still able to lock the door by pushing our fingers through the hole to ghetto lock it. On top of that the toilet was a little leaky and because the bathroom was cramped and small it grossed us out even more. The beds were broken, lumpy, and lopsided so we dragged the mattresses to the middle the floor and slept there. Wifi was extremely slow, ended up purchasing a hotspot for the weekend. The front desk guy was nice. We definitely won’t be staying here again.

This was easily one of the nastiest motels I've ever stayed at. Their website is super misleading (kudos to the photographer for their skill at making the place look a billion times better than it does in person). It felt more like a cheap, rundown hostel than a motel. The basement level rooms are creepy and dirty (I was actually concerned about ending up with bed bugs and/or finding hidden cameras in the room), with a shared bathroom down the hall that was supposedly 'just cleaned' and yet still covered in random hairs. More random hairs in the bed sheets, mold on the mini fridge door, footsteps audible from the floor above all night. Luckily I only had to stay one night.

The cleaning smell in the hallway is strong, but not as strong in the rooms. AC is loud, but effective! Rooms were great, loved having a mini fridge available. Can't beat the location!! We'll definitely be back.
