There aren’t a lot of hotels in Clarksdale, and most are lower end chains, so we found this place through Trip Advisor. This Inn offers just a couple rooms which were inside an old furniture store. From the outside it doesn’t look like much at all; some might find it scary. On the inside you’ll find a very large, nicely furnished room with an amazingly comfortable king bed, leather sofa and overstuffed chairs, tv, coffee pot, fridge and microwave. Ceramic floor tiles are nice and much cleaner than carpet. The bathroom was big with a nice shower. The walls are made to look rustic with corrugated metal and rough hewn wood. With the lights out, the room is very dark and quiet which made for a great night’s sleep. ||Best of all, the Bluestown Inn is a short walk to all of the wonderful attractions that downtown Clarksdale has to offer. Be sure to stop at Catheads and talk to Roger. He is the definitive resource for all the town has to offer.

We arrived on a Sunday and found a notice on the door to phone one of two mobile numbers. Our UK phones would not call them so we had to search for an open local business to ask them to call. Managed to find one local restaurant open finally - the very nice owner phoned for us. One number no answer , other was wrong number & gave a 3rd number. The owner gave my husband the code for the door and asked if we would like him to meet him here.We said we would as we wanted to make sure the place was okay as it looked pretty unwelcoming. He met us there and gave a cursory showing of the room.||||The room was okay, the bed very comfortable and the sheets fresh and clean. It had A/C and blinds on the windows which was good as it looked straight onto the pavement outside. The room was self contained and was a good size with seating area, with sofa and chairs, a flat screen TV, bed, then a shelf with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We didn't use the microwave or coffee maker and the fridge didn't freeze the bottle of water we put in the freezer compartment to act as an ice block in our cool bag for the day. ||||The bathroom had a shower, sink and toilet and was quite small. Small bars of soap provided but no other toiletries and there was a decent hair dryer. My husband went to the toilet on the first ni ght and a mouse ran over his foot and into the bedroom. Wifi stopped on the second day and no one to contact so we were not that impressed.||||The place is centrally located and could have been great had everything not been closed from ground Zero to many other eating places.||||Maybe our trip was badly planned to coincide with Labour Day but on previous trips that has meant everywhere was really busy not closed!

I booked an overnight stay online through Expedia for my wife and me. Upon booking, Expedia said no check-in desk, but follow instructions in email confirmation for check-in. Hmmmm. Following the email directions I called a number and a gentleman named Jim texted me a "door code" for unit #1 or apartment #1. I arrived at the address, and saw a large furniture store. Not knowing what to expect, I called the number, Jim answered and said he'd be right out. Well just off the curb there was a door for a unit #1 (just down the street to the right was another door for a unit #2). We entered the door access code to find a lovely studio apartment with everything promised, very comfy and cozy. Unit was fresh, walls were planked with cedar. Ceiling was of shiny galvanized roof tin which also covered the bathroom walls. Room was stocked with all the normal items including coffee and coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and some utensils.||||The location was excellent within walking distance of the Delta Blues Museum, and Ground Zero Blues Club.||||We felt very safe and comfortable with our car parked curbside right at the entrance to our "unit". We would absolutely stay at The Bluestown Inn again, and do highly recommend it for future visitors if the units are available.||||Note: we were not looking for room service, or traditional amenities of a standard hotel e.g. pool, exercise facility, etc.

We reserved this place sight unseen and when we pulled up it didn’t look at all like a cozy accommodation, but once inside we were quite impressed. Very spacious living room/bedroom combination, extra comfortable bed and sofa. The room is equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom is pretty cool too, with corrugated metal walls to give the place a funky vibe. You are literally steps away from all the blues you can handle, so whether in town for a festival or just a weekend getaway I’d highly recommend checking this place out. Make sure you have a reservation!

We found the place to be tidy, clean and handy to the Ground Zero Club and Delta Blues Museum. It is at the edge of downtown so we were a bit worried about parking the rental car out front all night as it seemed a bit seedy, but we didn’t have any problems and there was an obvious police presence. We couldn’t use the coffee maker or microwave as their wasn’t any plates, utensils, coffee cups etc. The owner was very responsive when we called for the code to the door and then called again for the wifi pass. He probably would have sorted it if we hadn’t noticed late at night and didn’t want to bother him. Bring your own shampoo.

Great location in the midst of it all. |Fell in love with Clarksdale and this room was a part of it! Close walk to ground zero and red's for a fun night out. Quite location but safe to walk to/from. The room itself is big! Lots of space to relax. Showers / towels all available. AC in room as well. I recommend calling in before you check in to get instructions to get in. It's adjacent to a furniture and check in is inside the furniture store. Overall loved this place.

From the exterior the Bluestown Inn doesn't look much really, however once inside we loved the quirkiness and uniqueness of the room. I think we stayed in the bigger unit A. We has everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The only issue I had was that there were no little milks in the fridge so I could make a cuppa (us English love their tea, especially in the morning!) There was a large tub of powdered milk but it was 4 years out of date.....I heated bottled water in the microwave for our tea, but a kettle would have been a bit better. It wasn't a major issue at all, we had black tea but a little milk or sachet of powdered milk would have been nice :-)||||When we checked out we noticed that our car had a puncture and so we enquired with the owner where we could get it sorted. He sent out his business partner (as he was out of town at the time) and he arranged for it to be taken away by a local guy who does their vehicles. It was picked up within 20 minutes and taken away, only an hour later it was dropped back off with a new tyre!!! You think this is helpful, well wait until you hear the rest.....when we sent to settle up with owner who was going to pass the cash over to his mates at the garage, he said don't worry about it, I will pay for it & covered the cost for us! What a fantastic guy, the charm of the southerners!.....would definitely recommend!!!! :-)

Be prepared to feel lost once you find the place. There is no reception and you have to find the owner on his furniture store by the corner. Ok, only if you arrive before 6pm, otherwise you’ll have to call him.||||It’s a big room, close to everything and with a comfortable bed. But far from a good place to relax. Door and windows go direct to the street, the AC is very noisy (waking me up every time it was on) and not that efficient. The bathroom is very small.||||Overall, good location. Bad place to rest before continuing a road trip.

Great night listening to "Reverent" Roberts. Met Stan Street as a wonderful host, working hard, like most of Clarkesdale, to keep the sound and those vibes alive. Thanks Stan!

What a neat, cozy little place off the beaten path. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. If you are here, it's a must go, and if we get back through, we will be back.
