Blue Plate Cafe - Southern restaurant (US) in Huntsville - 3210 Governors Dr SW, USA

My family and I came right before breakfast was closing and they turned us away so we came back for dinner. The place is a diner so nothing spectacular but we heard such great reviews we wanted to try. There dinner is ok, very under seasoned we kept shaking, hot sauce, salt, and pepper to give it taste. I personally had the chicken and dressing, the chicken was so tough and dry I ended up trying to eat around it. The cranberry sauce made the dressing taste good. I also had the cabbage it taste like water, I didn't finish it. The northern beans, roll, and hashbrowns were edible. The hashbrown casserole was actually my favorite out of my meal. My husband had a burger he enjoyed it and my brother and father had the catfish plate but their sides were under seasoned although enjoyed their fish. All in all we won't return for dinner. I do wish I remembered our waitress name she deserves a promotion!

First timers to the Blue Plate Cafe in Huntsville Al. The food was fantastic! It was just almost like my mommas. Our waitress was super and had a kind smile. We made a great choice for lunch today. Also, we had enough leftovers for dinner. Will definitely be going back soon!

We've made many family memories over the years at this diner! It's a nostalgic place with quality food and service! We enjoy most of the daily specials and especially enjoy the homemade pies!

I was in Huntsville visiting. Looked up a good breakfast in The city. It did not disappoint. It was so good. I loved the chocolate biscuit. It was so good. It is a must for breakfast if you are in Huntsville

A true landmark in Huntsville! Just the basics done very well. The food is amazing, served in a timely manner and the staff are exceptionally friendly!!! Prices are surprisingly low. What more could you want? The only difficulty is parking... that's just expected when everyone wants to go there! Go ahead, add to the crowd, you won't be disappointed!

Great restaurant with delicious food!! Amazing service with Hannah! Will definitely be back and recommend! We tried a little of everything (very kid-friendly) - burgers/fries, chicken fried steak, tons of veggies, and the blueberry cobbler dessert.

Great place for home cooking. They have a great breakfast menu. The omelet was cooked to perfection. Heavy on the cheese which I scraped off what I didn’t want. The hash browns were perfect, too. I cannot wait to return. Service was impeccable, which is very hard to come by these days.

Blue plate Café is always amazing. One of the best meat and threes in town their meat entrée changes by the day, as well as some of the vegetable selections, so look up what their offerings are on your specific day. I usually get a vegetable plate with three or four vegetables, and it’s always amazing and fresh. I am told their chicken fried steak is the best in town. Service is always good, but not cloying, and even with a crowd they do a fantastic job. I’ve done dine in and takeout and both are great. It’s just good, solid, southern cooking. Their burgers are even good if you weren’t a vegetarian. The servers are knowledgeable if you have allergies, and one time, they were perfectly willing to go back and ask with no bad attitude. Warning: they do have a small parking lot and when it’s crowded, especially at lunch, it can be hard to find a space.
