Blue Moon Saloon & Guest House - Guest house in Lafayette - 215 E Convent St, USA

I love this place! I stayed in The Bird's Nest room. The room has a vintage charm. ||I came to Lafayette specifically to see a band playing at the Artmosphere saloon right across the street from the Blue Moon Saloon. Both places have a wide variety of great bands. ||A couple of nice places to eat are also across the street. So if you want a place to relax in style, listen to great music, and eat well. This is the perfect guest house. ||If you have physical limitations, you should ask specific questions in advance. For the example, the Birds Nest is on the second floor accessed by a very steep and winding staircase. ||I will definitely be back in the future.

What a warm, wonderful, unique place! I cant overstate how perfect this place was for us- comfortable, spacious, and very much a part of the community. |The bed was fantastic, with plenty of pillows, MY FAVORITE. Our room was generous sized and full of light, with posters from past Blue Moon music events covering one wall. We had a deck overlooking the yard, where we enjoyed our morning coffee (free, in the kitchen). Downstairs there is also shared spaces-a full kitchen, dining room and living room, with cozy spots everywhere to read or chat. I loved the mismatched cups and plates, and all the tools to make a meal.|The outdoor spaces are incredible- with a back porch bar open in the evenings, its a great place for casual mingling with the locals. We were there for Wednesday Cajun Jam night- and the musicians who showed up were incredible! We loved talking with local people and dancing the two step on the wooden floor.|I mostly valued the informality, warmth and generosity that I felt from the hosts, spaces, clientele and staff. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!!

Truly enjoyed the stay. Great old house, nice vintage feel. Check in and out was simple and automated using lock boxes. Saloon was really fun, live music, and Cajun dancing. Good time had! Met some folks from 3 different countries. Fun people to hang out with. Will definitely stay again. This place is fun and quirky, not fancy and elegant, be open minded and have fun!

We totally enjoyed ourselves, each and every one. We are a group of six Marines who serve together many years ago, this was a great place to meet. We had everything we needed, and much more. We were blessed with great music. Thank you! It's a one-of-a-kind place. We met a lot of interesting people .The music was fantastic. Hope we can do it again someday! Thanks again!

I ended up here purely by accident as I was doing some work in the area and all the hotel rooms had been booked by repair crews right after a storm. My room reservation had been cancelled because of the need for repairs and this was the only location I could find a place to stay. I ended up in one of the the "hostel" rooms of shared bunk beds which would have been ok on a fun trip but the lack of private space was a bit challenging for work. The rooms were also very noisy (as the bands play late into the night) BUT being a person that can have fun I just rolled with the punches and stayed up to listen to the band, party, and drank enough to pass out despite the noise. This is a great place to stay for fun times and I have returned on several pleasure trips rather than work trip to enjoy myself here and this is certainly a great place for that (not so great if you have to wake up early for work though!). I stayed in some of the private rooms and those were pretty cool but still noisy so expect to stay up having fun til the bands are done. Really great music and great people having a good time!

This was a return visit and was one of the best. I was meeting 5 old USMC buddies. We arrived on a Thursday and stayed through Monday. ||Music||I start the review with Music. The people of Lafayette have music embedded in their souls including our friend AJ of AJ and the Bad Cats. The culture is unlike anywhere else I’ve been in the USA. There was live music on Friday night ($5 cover) and Saturday night ($10 cover with three bands). Friday was a jam session made up of local musicians many who have never played together. The talent was off the charts. Saturday drew a younger crowd. Few were over 30, but again the people were all about the music. I only caught the last band and they were incredible. ||Room||I stayed in The Balcony Room which I had stayed the three visits prior. My five friends each had their own rooms. A comment I heard from one friend was how clean his room floor was. He commented that he had walked about the room barefoot and checked his feet and found them completely clean which was kind of funny. It caused me to test The Balcony Room floor which I did and I too had the same result. The Blue Moon is clean. ||Late night several of us were hanging out on the country front porch. A local musician passed by and was invited to play on the porch. We received a private concert by a very talented musician who is called Watson. This kid is going to draw a crowd. ||I hope to be back soon.

Blue moon is so cozy. We love the fact that there is a venue and bar in house. The stay is always great!! The bartender Friday night was fantastic, helpful and mad a fantastic Bloody Mary!! The only small complaint I have is that check in time is 5 which is kinda late, you would think they would have the ac on. It was kinda hot in the room and took quite a bit to cool off.

What a great vibe! The Balcony room was perfect! Enjoyed hearing the band on the balcony and live in the saloon. The bed was dreamy and the room had everything including air conditioning. Common areas easy to navigate and enjoy. Hosts are intentional in the accommodations and it shows! I recommend taking a moment to read all of the headliner posters used as wallpaper. What a wall of magical musicians! Highly recommended staying at the Blue Moon Saloon & Guest House!
