Blue Little Havana - Hostel in Miami - 1537 SW 2nd St, USA

Wanted somewhere within walking distance to LoanDepot Park for a Cubs game and that's how I stumbled upon this little gem. Stayed in a large double room (F1) for one night (my husband was very apprehensive when I informed him that we were staying at a "hostel"). Check in was very pleasant. The room was clean (had a clean mini fridge) & the bathrooms were clean. We did not use the common areas but we were shown those areas during check in and they appeared adequate and were very clean. I was surprised to learn about the Little Havana District during check in so after the game, we walked to that area for dinner. Only two complaints about our room: 1. We both felt that the bed was not level; we felt that our heads were lower than our feet but we eventually fell asleep. 2. The room locks are LOUD! Neither of us are really light sleepers but we were awakened multiple times by the mechanical sounds of the room locks. Overall, a great value for our overnight stay as the plan was a ballgame and then some night life; we would stay at this property again.

one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this place is a disaster. Firstly, the cleanliness is appalling. The rooms and bathrooms were filthy, with mold in the shower and stains on the sheets. It looked like the place hadn’t been cleaned in months. The communal areas were no better, with trash and dirt everywhere. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I raised concerns about the state of my room, they dismissed my complaints and acted like I was an inconvenience. The reception desk was rarely manned, and when it was, the staff were often more interested in their phones than helping guests. The amenities were practically non-existent. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the kitchen was a mess, with broken appliances and dirty dishes piled high. The noise levels were unbearable. The walls are paper-thin, so you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms and the street outside. There was constant shouting and loud music at all hours, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Safety is also a major concern. The locks on the doors were flimsy, and I didn’t feel secure leaving my belongings in the room. The hostel seemed to attract a sketchy crowd, and there were people loitering around who made me feel uncomfortable. Overall, I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay here and to look elsewhere. It’s dirty, unsafe, and poorly managed. Save yourself the hassle and book a different place – this one isn’t worth your time or money.

Decent low-cost hostel with friendly staff and a nice ocean theme. You can get to downtown Miami fairly easily on the bus and it’s a short taxi ride away from the airport. Loses 2 stars for me because: - The shower in my room had no hot water. - The checkin could be smoother by having a reception area that you can walk into and be served. Instead you reach a locked door and have to message someone on WhatsApp, and them wait for them to arrive, or contact their staff if they are away etc.

Great place, great vibes, great people running the joint. Not a party hostel if thats what you're looking for, but a nice and safe chill place to be.

I will not say good or bad, but it was not what I was expecting. Positives - 1. Looks good from outside, ocean theme. 2. Bed is clean 3. Shared kitchen Negatives 1. Room is too basic, it has just bed, no table, no chair. 2. Fan and room light are connected with same switch, Miami was little cold and I had no option but to put fan on if I have to switch the light. Very unconformable. 3. I booked room for 3, my wife and my son. There were two beds, but just one blanket. I requested for an additional blanket but the request was ignored. I have to wear my jacket most of the time and even while sleeping because there was no extra blanket. 4. Many times you will struggle to find someone to request the basic amenities. 5. Charging point, just in one corner, not near the bedside. Overall,this was not what I was looking for. This could still be a good option for bag packers.

The room cleaner (thin old white guy will update his name if I find out) was pretty rude and not nice, definitely did not treat you as a PAID guest, keeps on demanding this demanding that have to deal with him for 3 days!!

I came here from Ohio and booked in October and had accidentally booked in the dormitory room but decided not to fix it since I got a good deal on staying for a week. Upon arrival I was welcomed and shown around which was nice! The staff are friendly and will check in on you if you need anything. They don’t make you feel like unwelcomed or ghosted. The kitchen outside and huge. You’ve got two fridges to store food/drinks for your stay which is convenient. The dormitory room honestly isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have social anxiety and thought I would be dealing rude or loud roommates but honestly they’ve all been quite friendly and everyone seems to stick to themselves so there’s never any drama. The beds are comfortable. You’re provided with a pillow and a thin bed sheet for a blanket. I didn’t know they didn’t provide fleece blankets or really anything that would keep you warm at night so that’s where I went wrong. I didn’t bring a blanket and with the ac on all night just makes the room freezing cold. I decided not to complain about it as I did bring some fall weather clothes with me to keep me warm at night. So just make sure to bring a blanket. Outlets are close to the beds for easy access to charge devices. I brought a lock for the locker to put personal items in it but the lock didn’t fit through the hole so I didn’t end up using it and kept everything in my suit case. I would consider it to be more like a little storage cubby only enough to store a little bit of clothes and shower supplies. It was a little smaller than what it looked like in the pictures. Everything is cleaned daily so there’s no need to worry about when something was last cleaned. I had surgery in the first couple days I was staying here and decided that I needed to book a private room for my nurse to monitor me during recovery as the dormitory room wasn’t going to work for that. Talked to one of the staff about needing a separate room for a day and she managed to help me book that and continue the rest of the time I booked in the dormitory room. Overall has been a good experience and definitely feels like a home away from home. Would recommend coming back here if I plan on traveling to Miami again.
