Blue - Inn on the Beach - Hotel in Newbury - 20 Fordham Way, USA

I had a fabulous vacation here. Felt pampered and looked after - the staff are amazing. My patio door opened right into the beach. Love the fact that it’s a boutique hotel so you get peace and quiet. The breakfast delivered to your door was amazing - gourmet and healthy. Absolutely nothing was a problem - they tend to your every desire. Love that you don’t have to go to reception when you need something - you text them and it’s delivered to your door. They were accommodating with both my early arrival and late departure. There is a water filling station and plenty of books to read while you’re there. Downside: No restroom in the lobby - if you arrive early and hang out on the beach, you’d need to take a 10 walk to public restrooms. Suggestion: Breakfast was so fabulous- it would be awesome if you had something like that available in the evening to purchase - a sampler of gourmet food. Thank you for my amazing vacation ❤️

We had an absolutely wonderful stay for my son’s wedding. Everything was just perfect - from the beautiful rooms, to the incredible staff service and communication, to the amazing weather. We couldn’t have been happier! We had an oceanfront room with a huge balcony - perfect for morning coffees and sunrises! Lounge chairs and umbrella right outside our door. There were beach chairs and umbrellas on our own uncrowded, private beach area with an outside bar and hot tub! Each morning, breakfast baskets were delivered and were a nice little extra, although truthfully the only item I enjoyed was the quiche. The accompanying pot of hot coffee was an unexpected, appreciated addition! The rooms were clean, bright and air conditioned. We all had reserved a few rooms and cottages, and the entire wedding party stayed a couple nights. Parking for additional cars was only a couple doors down - a one minute walk from our room. I’d recommend a cottage instead of a room if you’re unable to climb stairs. I definitely recommend staying here and plan to again! I highly recommend Blue Inn on the Beach for a weekend getaway of any kind. I booked an oceanfront room for the weekend—for a surprise proposal to my partner—and our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The Blue Inn staff was wonderful to work with both before arriving and throughout our stay—prior to my check in, assisting with the “surprise” by having our room set up with rose petals and my choice of bubbly (that they procured at my request) to be a perfect cherry on top of the surprise-filled weekend. Blue Inn pays the perfect attention to detail in all things, from the rooms, to the adorable breakfast basket that they left for us each morning—filled with freshly squeezed juices, and a delicious breakfast spread. The location was perfect, the staff was amazing and so kind, and the entire experience was truly one-of-a-kind. We will certainly be returning to Blue Inn, for many years to come, and I could not speak more highly of this amazing spot!

Blue Inn was perfect! Our Queen ocean front room was big w/plenty of space, a private deck, and walked right out on to a private beach. Breakfast basket included every morning. Woke up and watched the sunrise every day. Beach chairs available for use on the lower beach too. The staff were friendly & helpful (props to the GM). Would highly recommend - the location is worth it!

The hotel looks a lot better online than in person. A bit beat. And you are on your own. No restaurant or bar or service of any kind. Bedding felt worn and thin. ||Housekeeping was non-existent. We were only there two nights. First morning we put the sign to tidy up our room on the door about 10am. We were in and out of the room several times during the day. No one ever came to clean up. The basket from breakfast and dirty coffee carafe & debris stayed outside our door (along with three other rooms) all day. We left for dinner at 5:30. It was still there. ||The only thing the hotel has going for it is the beach. It is beautiful and in September almost empty. Nevertheless, the hotel is extremely overpriced. Hotel rooms in excess of $700./night should come with some services. ||Will not return and would not recommend to others.

We traveled to the Blue Inn for a night with our 2 dogs and our daughter. The accommodations were beautiful and the private cottage was located directly across the street from the hotel. Warm welcome and amazing breakfast delivered to our room in the morning. The breakfast included 2 homemade bones for the dogs. The dogs loved the beach as well as the cottage. Hope to return soon! The hotel is situated on the nicest side of the island.

So, we love this spot and had a wonderful anniversary night here. We were in an oceanside king which I would recommend (we got a free upgrade or would not be able to afford it). The staff was very sweet and helpful. Right on the ocean, we enjoyed our breakfast delivered to the door in the morning in a wicker basket and sat outside on our deck and watched the ocean while sipping our coffee, then had a walk on the beach. I think when Blu opened it was luxe with a capital L, and I would not describe it as luxe anymore (just to temper expectations). But I would say capital W for wonderful, and we will watch for deals so we can come back!

After many trips to Plum Island, we decided to exercise our wish to stay at Blue Inn on the beach .Our (3) nights stay at Blue in early June 2024 was fantastic, the staff was very helpful and kind. We stayed in one of the suites with an oceanfront view which included a fully equiped kitchen, an environment that was so beautiful that we had all our meals there. With no hesitation we recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to returning to Blue soon.
