My family came here for the first time celebrating my sister's birthday. The staff was wonderful. The food was good and the drinks were amazing. I can't wait to come back to try more of the amazing food and drinks.

First time visiting Blue Goose and while it was very busy when we arrived, we got seated right away. The service was very good all around and we never waited long for anything! The margaritas were eh and the food was decent. Nothing special in my opinion but was not bad by any means. We did enjoy the chips and salsa!

First time trying this place, and it was surprisingly amazing. Thank you to our server Derek who from us being new to the place, answered our many questions from what to try and how things worked. The fresh hot flour tortillas were delicious and all of our dishes were very good. Will definitely be back, thanks yall!!

First time to try out this place. Went at lunch time on a Saturday and got seated when we walked in. Chips and salsa was served within seconds of being seated. We ordered pretty quick and food did not take very long. Customer service was amazing, from the people at the door, our server, the floor manager, and everyone else we came in contact with. Our food was served hot, we’re ordered the guacamole appetizer, cheese enchiladas, and bacon wrapped shrimp fajitas. All the food had great presentation and tasted really good. I unfortunately compare all flour tortillas to HEBs butter tortillas, so their flour tortillas or just ok to me. Nothing bad on their part, it’s my boogie butt with tortillas. Will go back for sure.

The food was good. I had a great time with the girls. The queso could have been better, but other than that, I would go back. The bacon wrapped shrimp was my favorite out of everything I ate.

Every staff member was pleasant. Service was good. The appetizer platter with goose eggs. Quesadillas, nachos, etc (steak and chicken) was pretty good. Ample amount of pico/guac included which was great. Fresh, hot chips and pretty good salsa. Just a little runny for my taste but the flavor makes up for it. Birria tacos had plenty of meat but not enough onion or cilantro. Queso was delicious. Need a dipping bowl of it next time we come back!

My wife and I went on our first date at the Blue Goose and recently we tried the new one that just opened up in Grand Prairie. I was hoping to get some fried ice cream because that’s what we shared when we first went out. The franchise has switched the decorum from authentic to an almost fast food environment. Small dining tables with semi uncomfortable chairs, flashy video screens and neon light displays replace the Mexican home style setting, that I recall. Welcome to 21st Century Dining Sinjin - no old black and white pictures of the Mexican landscape, it was more of a modern multi colored dreamscape . The walls displayed some interesting Art Deco prints and more than a few religious pictures of a bare heart. Some had thorns and a cross, others were aflame? I dunno but the hearts were ubiquitous for unclear reasons. The service was quick and the waiter Eric had the menu memorized - no fried ice cream sorry. He knew how to up-sell the table, you might think guacamole offered with chips actually come with the chips but nope, it’s a $9.00 appetizer. Tasty as all get out though. I have a weakness for chicken enchiladas covered in sour cream sauce and my better half got a guacamole tostado W/brisket. We were gonna share a plate because we are both occupying more space than we did this time last year - but I threw a fit and said I wanted my own plate! And I’m glad I did cause my order was tons tastier than hers. I have to warn you though the chicken in my enchiladas was a little on the tough side. The cantina part of The Blue Goose Cantina Mexican Restaurant houses the heart of the place and is a large open spaced area that you are almost forced to walk by or around. That’s tough for a guy like me who likes to secretly drink in a quiet corner somewhere harboring dark thoughts and dire intentions, but most establishments want the bar in a well viewed part of the restaurant. It promotes drink sells and makes it easier to spot a problem drinker if one surfaces. As for me, I told my wife that the afternoon was all about her and the special memory of our first date so I would only drink Coca Cola. I didn’t even look at the drink menu because in my wife’s mind that would be like looking at a Sports Illustrated Swim Suit magazine. If you got a special gal and she likes Tex-Mex, I recommend the Blue Goose even if they no longer serve fried ice cream.
