Friday evening around 7:30 my wife and I got a table right away. Our server Gina was fantastic and attentive she had our drinks and appetizers out very quickly. We split appetizers, wings, cannon balls and gill cheese bites.
My family and I decided to have dinner here after a long, hot day of touring the battlefields. After waiting about 15 min for someone to take our drink order, I quickly realized this place is way understaffed. We ordered the cheese sticks as an appetizer. Unfortunately, they weren't great. They were wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and filled with cheddar cheese only. The wrapper was stale and hard to bite. The marinara sauce was so spicy we couldn't eat it. We ordered a burger with fries and mashed potatoes, crab cakes with spinach, a wedge salad, sweet potato fries, and a Philly cheese steak. The waitress didn't write down our order, so I immediately knew things were going to come out wrong. My son's burger was just a frozen patty and came out with cheese on it, which he ordered no cheese. His mashed potatoes didn't come, so we had to ask for them 3 times. They were swimming in butter and olive oil. The salad and sweet potatoes didn't come out until the end of our meal because the waitress kept forgetting them. So, by the time she remembered to bring them out, we were finished eating. The fries were dripping grease. The salad was very pretty, though. The crab cakes were frozen and not heated all the way through. The cheese steak was okay, but it was definitely microwaved. I really lowered my expectations when walking into this restaurant, but I still thought we would receive edible food. The bill was $89.50 for the items listed above, and 90% of it went to the garbage.
Visited Gettysburg on New Years Day, this spot was right on the square. Busy mid-afternoon but we were seated right away in a booth. Our server Shawna was pleasant and efficient, and helpful with recommendations. The blackened tuna bites (we ordered them medium) were outstanding, the fried pickles were tasty as expected. The wings were cooked crispy yet tender, but the garlic parmesan version were not what we expected- almost like an Alfredo sauce on the wings. A cherry blossom and an orange crush were our drinks, good flavor and not watered down. Well definitely visit again!
Terrific restaurant! We sat outside and listened to the live music playing in the square. We ordered the Musket balls and Grilled Cheese Bites for our Apps and they were delicious! The Horseradish Aioli was divine! The Musket Balls were everything yummy in one bite!! My husband had the Brisket Sandwich for dinner. The brisket melts in your mouth! The Manchego Cheese was a perfect match! My Shrimp Po Boy was yummy too! Our server was great! It was quite busy and he was hustling, drinks were on our table and our order was taken in a timely fashion. We will definitely be returning our next time in Gettysburg.
Our food was great and so was our service. We dined on the patio on a nice fall day and down town offers a great atmosphere. The inside is just your standard bar with TVs. We had a burger and a philly cheesesteak.
Stopped for lunch. Right in the middle of the town square. Burger's are big, also got a Blta wrap. Fries are waffle fries, regular or sweet potato. Food was good. Atmosphere is OK, nothing special. Wasn't busy when we went early afternoon. But have been later in the day when it's been packed.
After a LONG day touring the battlefield, we walked to the Blue & Gray Bar and Grill. The waitress was friendly, effecient and steered us to the perfect meal. Their salads are huge, very filling and reasonably priced. The citrus vinegaret is housemade and the best dressing I've ever had. My husband loved the blue cheese dressing on the wedge salad, which he added chicken and avocado per waitress suggestion and it was perfect. This was on a Sunday afternoon when the place was packed with people watching football games. Our food came out quickly, the waitress kept great track of us filling drinks etc. We ended up eating here 3 times while in town. Each time the place was busy but we had excellet service. Food came out quickly, even when I ordered sweet potato fries (which are fabulous) after our meal was delivered. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend this place for a good reasonabe meal.
Welcome to the Blue and Gray Bar and Grill in Downtown Gettysburg! This historic sports bar is owned and operated by a family who “took [their] passion for history and sports and combined them to create a fun atmosphere with elevated bar food.” One of the most notable things about this restaurant is how well it keeps with the theme of the history that the town holds. Their burgers are named after the generals who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg and their wing sauces are named after notable brigades. There are also plenty of other references to this historic battle within their menu as well. Everything on their menu was delicious, but my favorite had to have been the bacon wrapped shrimp!
