Blue Agave - Mexican restaurant in New Albany - 9745 Johnstown Rd, USA

The food is kind of bland. The salsa is like tomato juice with alot of garlic, no heat. The 3 steak tacos are very pricey for $20 for 3 tacos and the beef burrito was ok but no flavor. Service was great though.

Amazing Mexican food! They make the tortillas fresh every day at the restaurant. Highly recommend the tacos al pastor mexican style with flour tortillas if you like a sweet & spicy combo.

Had this place for a work lunch. The menu looks pretty authentic and they have home made flour tortillas, so it's gotta be good right? I was very wrong. This is a very "Americanized" mexican joint. The salsa is basically pureed tomatoes, not much flavor there, and 0 heat. No horchata on the menu which was a disappointment. I had the bistec tampico and it was bland. The only reason this place is getting 3* is because of the service and home made tortillas. I'm sure I could have asked for more, but they only give ya 3 with a dinner. They were really good tortillas though. Also tried the queso fundido with chorizo. They make it with oxaca cheese I think it is and serve it with chips, its more of a rich cheese sauce type of stuff. I prefer it with stretchy Chihuahua cheese served with tortillas. Our server was awesome, and the food came out really fast. Prices are fairly expensive and they don't really have ala carte tacos. It's $20 for 3 tacos. For me, unless someone else is paying, it is not my type of place to eat. Thanks for the great service despite the food.

I haven’t been to many Mexican restaurants but I know this one has to be legit. From their house made chips and salsa to the fresh made tortillas. This place was great. A recommendation if you are in the New Albany area. Happy hour is everyday as well not just Monday-Friday as most tend to advertise.

I order a 32oz beer along with the Blue Agave Bowl. The Blue Agave Bowl wasn’t exactly what I thought it was. It was fajita ingredients with rice and sauce in a cast iron skillet. Pretty good for the location, but there are better options further away.

The food was average. It is like every other American style Mexican joint in Ohio. Very busy. The temperature in the restaurant was very warm. It was uncomfortable. We were having dinner with another couple and the booth was awful. Very tight quarters. Like eating in a submarine mess. We won't be back.

I love this restaurant. They have a great happy hour! I got a Classic Pitcher ($17.99) and the #11 Queso Fundido con Camaron ($13.29). The food was phenomenal and came with tasty Chips and Salsa. The staff was really nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. This is a 10/10 dining experience.

So I’ve been hearing about this place before and finally tried it with my dad & brother. My dad is beyond a food connoisseur he will take Ramsey for his money lol. From the time we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile 😊 clean environment everyone so well professional they made u feel at home. From the chips and salsa to the fresh guacamole omg!!!!!!! Fireeee!!! My dad wouldn’t shut up about how he plans on returning without us lol 😂 to make our day even more a blessing some one anonymous paid for our meal !!!
