Pretty happy with the campground at $20 for electric and water. It is not on the water but you can see water from it. Boat ramp and protective cove is very close. I would walk but not carry my kayak there. The benefit of being off the water is much less wind and its open since half the campground was under water recently and still closed. Sites are not right on top of each other but its not state park space either. I cannot speak to the public restrooms as we didnt use them but the playgrounds are open here now. Make sure you have a map because there are not really signs on where the sites are. One is posted you can take a pic of at the campground gate but nothing to take with you. Shade is hit and miss by site. The trees have grown but they appear to have lost some to various diseases and are replanting and fighting off what they can. All sites have fire rings, lantern holders, charcoal, grills, tables, are paved and mostly level with gravel and grass. I camped in site 25. Its a bit close to the campground road but the camper provides privacy. Sites have been busy but easy to get here a week in advance except for holiday weekends which we avoid. Closest firewood is the small bait shack down the road along the way in with ice etc. Hosts are nice and helpful and rangers make frequent rounds. Used to camp here in the group sites and in elm growing up and there have been improvements there as well. The back in sites offer the most privacy for obvious reasons. Coverage if you care TMO/SPR is decent 3-4bars with 20-40mb down 1-3 up depending on bands. Vz 3-4bars 10mb down 4 up.
The place is great. Nice place to do camping, spend your day relaxing, fishing, outdoor activities.
This place is clean and the people are really nice there 8s a little shop down the road that sells fire wood and ice plus some other random things.
A very nice well run federal camping area. The camping areas are nice and clean. The people who run the camp drive around on a nice electric mini-car at night and keep a good eye on things. I come out here once a year to meet friends for a small gathering. Because of safe atmosphere of the camping area, there are many of children riding around on their bicycles and they don't always watch so you must keep an eye out for them. They do seem well behaved thought. There is a nearby boat dock but fishing seems to be limited to that area. There could be some other ways to the lake but I didn't have time to explore them. There is a good sized , brick restroom / shower area at the center of camp. There are other smaller wood framed restrooms located in a number of areas that have running water. There seems to be ample hookups for campers, large and small. Overall, a good experience.
Beautiful park, bathrooms and shower house was a bit dirty though.
Attended a public event here. The restrooms were very clean with antibiotic soap at each sink. Not sure if the event put them there but I felt better that they were there. The grounds were very clean and well maintained.
I liked it a lot, my 17 month old liked the play ground, and my wife is not outdoorsy enjoyed herself too. Just remember to bring bug repellent with DEET, there were mosquitoes (because it's a lake) and ticks. Not too many people either.
Stayed in Cedar Ridge. Restrooms/shower houses - mens & women's we're NOT cleaned the entire time we camped there... Camp host hours are short; don't want to be bothered if/when assistance is needed in the "off" hours.
Wonderful off leash park! Even when the parking lot is full, you are never overwhelmed by other dogs or people. You can choose to go to the fenced-in park, the off leash play area where most dogs hang out, or you can go walk the trails and more likel
Lawrence Nature Park has some pretty awesome trails. Going down the first trailhead from the parking lot will lead you to several different paths you can take. The ground is uneven! Easier for walking, but not so much running. Multiple areas where y
Just checked it out this evening but we will be back when we have time to hike the trail by the pond. This is a hidden gem where you can just sit and enjoy nature at it's best.
