Blockade Runner Beach Resort - Hotel in Wrightsville Beach - 275 Waynick Blvd, USA

This is by far the best place to stay in Wilmington NC. The rooms are very clean and accommodations are comfortable. The best part however, it the staff! The front desk personnel are professional, caring, and attuned to guests needs. Thank you so very much.

Such a lovely resort! We enjoyed everything about it. Immaculate rooms and manicured grounds, delicious food in the on site restaurant with a lovely view. Outstanding work out room and indoor/ outdoor pool. |Highly recommend!

A gorgeous resort on the water with beautiful views of the ocean and numerous places to sit and enjoy with others or in solitude. Close to restaurants and walkable. I would return at the same time to avoid the busy season because it was quiet and very peaceful. Opened the door wall in my room and slept to the surf sounds with no other noises to distract. Room had nice amenities and coffee, asked for cream the night before to put in the fridge provided. 2 seating areas, one in and one out, was unique and a great touch.

The first night there was zero heat and it was 35 degrees. We couldn't figure it out. We eneded up just going to sleep because it was 4 am. The second night we called and they came to fix it and it worked beautifully. Location is great! We did not have ocean view but was still beautiful! The landscaping was AMAZING major major props for this! Outstanding. The walk to the beach was amazing. Beach was great! There's construction going on right across our room, which is great they definitely need to be updated. But if that's the case I'm not sure why they had us in that room. It wasn't greatly busy at all. They started early and the first night we got in at 4am. Our bathroom door would not latch. It's fine it's was my sister and her daughter and I. But could be a issue. It just looked "dirty" but maybe more stained than dirty. Curious what the rooms will look like. I didn't like the tile instead of carpet or something the floor was very cold. Staff was very pleasant. I didn't see breakfast but maybe we just didn't look. Decorations are very lovely. Bed was decent but very noisy! Location. Location. Location. And landscaping spot on. I still can't get over how beautiful the landscaping is.

I overall had a great stay at Blockade Runner this weekend. Positives: Ideal location, good amenities. I especially enjoyed walking on the beach, getting a drink at the pool side bar, and then hanging in the hammock and watching the rabbits that live in the dunes. Breakfast here was great, and all the staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly. Negatives: The room we stayed in was very dated. While clean, it could definitely use some upgrades. The air conditioning was as loud as a freight train when it kicked on. The beds were hard and not very comfy. Overall: Great stay! Will possibly come back in the future.

Unfortunately I was only able to get the 2xQueens room with ocean view. Room was clean with a small bathroom. It had a great view. ||What makes me want to come back is their staff. Check in was quick and easy with incredibly friendly staff.||After getting dinner with family I came back and stopped by the hotel bar. The Bartender Michelle made me a few incredible margaritas. She makes her own sweet and sour and uses Luna Azul tequila. I am a margarita snob and love a good tequila. I plan to make the 4 hour drive to come back for the ocean view and her margaritas. She also managed to handle another customer that had had a few too many drinks and was upsetting others with political discussions. She handled it perfectly.||While at the bar I mentioned that I had some issues with the tv in my room and her coworker Nicky overheard me. He went out of his way to solve the problem and get me the channel info.||I will be back. For the margaritas, friendly staff and location.

The Blockade Runner Beach Resort is simply the best hotel I’ve ever visited in my 57 trips around the sun! The staff is so personable and professional and knowledgeable and helpful that I felt like I was in my own hometown. Nicholas the GM and Alex the Asst. GM have a smile and attitude that light up the room and welcome you like you are the only person on the planet. Jill and Jessica follow suit with their warm greetings and professional hospitable demeanor that will make you think you are staying at The Greenbrier or The Cloister! They all take such pride and joy in their vocation and wear it on their sleeves. They are such an asset to the Blockade Runner Beach Resort Team it just reinforces why I don’t stay anywhere else in the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area regardless of the level or tier of the hotel. I highly recommend the Blockade Runner Beach Resort to anyone traveling to Southeastern NC - or anywhere else in the world for that matter - so that you can experience the exceptional and extraordinary service that they provide all their guests. This is a Five Star resort on one of the most undiscovered and pristine beaches in the entire United States that is a hidden gem!🏝️

Beach Nourishment is going on now. Unfortunately I did not learn about the months long process before I booked my stay. I have tried to call the manager regarding my issues, even demanding to speak to the Owner, to no avail. The "manager" will get back to you when they do. I have NEVER encountered this type of service for the money spent, and have it all documented and recorded. Please see Google for my videos of what might be your stay. Also, please look up Army Corp of Engineers project. I even called and talked to Army Corp of Engineers and they said property was aware. I would not normally recommend another beach, but now I am.
