Blackwell Forest Preserve South Shelter Parking - Park in Warrenville - Main Dr, USA

My husband and I recently went on a wonderful hike along the forest trails. The 7-mile trail was absolutely amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, our experience in the forest was spectacular. The natural beauty was incredibly tranquil, thanks to its cleanliness and stunning scenery. We highly recommend this forest for a rejuvenating getaway.

We love how big this preserve is! There is a hill to walk up and lakes to see. A lot of designated picnic areas and port-a-potties. Ability to rent kayaks, paddleboats, go to the archery range or fish. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to explore.

On a nice day you can find yourself taking a walk up the hill and seeing the city of Chicago on a nice day!

Place was so nice and pretty. So peaceful. You can get a boat and fish in season only.all I could see was green all around me. Plus there is a big hill that gives out a outstanding view.

I drove through the park. The lakes were lovely and some of the maples are starting to turn red but there were Mostly yellow and green trees. In 2 weeks they should be beautiful colors. But there is no walking trails around the lakes.

South shelter is a great spot to rent. Lake nearby, room to setup volleyball or other games. Partial shade. Covered shelter with picnic benches. Pit toilets, but the staff keeps them relatively clean.

Blackwell has always been one of those places in DuPage Co that reminds you of peace and contentment. The ranger's have the park clean and ready every morning, and are always there to make sure that unruly guest are warned from causing any mishap's, and help, to make sure not only the parks guest are safe, but keep the park so well groomed , and clean. That every time you visit Blackwell you'll have a good visit.

This is a typical shelter you'd see at a state park. There are six large picnic tables located in it so there's space for a large group. The cement slab it's located on extends about three feet further than the roof which is helpful. There is a paved path from the handicapped parking to the shelter making it easy for those with mobility issues to get to the shelter or just makes pulling your cooler nicer.
