Excellent camping experience, well maintained, clean bathrooms and showers , Lake for fishing, walking path ,fire pits , Electricity spot for charging phones or whatever else , OVERALL Great experience

Very well maintained. Nice flat campsites. You wouldn’t know that you’re in the Chicago suburbs except for the occasional sound of sirens in the distance. No water hookups but free filling and dump station. Access to hiking and fishing and canoes. Great little retreat in a convenient location.

Great areas for boating and the archery range is awesome! I do like the sites are soft for the tents, just wish the areas were a little bigger

I had a great experience with my first camping in Blackwell. it was beautiful area. The bathroom is clean the shower room has a strong water warm water toilet is clean there is also firewood for $7. The crickets at night is so relaxing and the sound of nature is just so noisy but relaxing, there's also electrical outlet you can bring your own extension. We also brought a canopy for our table where we put our food we also had a small barbecue grill they fire pit where you use your firewoods at night and you can make s'mores. At daytime you can walk around the Blackwell Park there's different scenery landscapes that you will enjoy in the forest preserve you can do kayaking too. You can get up early in the morning and run or walk to Mount Hoy.

Blackwell has a beautiful campground. We had an amazing experience and the children loved it. The grounds are well maintained, fire rings and picnic tables are provided. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. We brought our popup and we were setting it up for the first time. We couldn’t figure out how to work the electric and the ranger was helpful and brought us a cord that we could use during our stay.

Went for a camping weekend with my kid's here. Very eazy to book a spot and they have pictures on the website so you can see how the spot looks like. They have penty of firewood to by it goes for $7 per bundle more than you need for one night. Near by lake for fishing and hey have boats to rent. Kid's have a lot of fun.

Such a nice place to do camping. Everything was perfect except that it is silent zone after 10.00 pm and they are very strict on this.

This is a great place to campout at with your family.The facilities are very nice.Different activities, including kayaking.Each campsite has a place to cook,table and a place to put your tents and electricity.Warm water for showers.Please keep in mind it's not a hotel.The amenities are better than most places.I was happy overall.
