Blackbird Kitchen and Cocktails - Tapas restaurant in Wantagh - 3026 Merrick Rd, USA

The restaurant is small & you can't sit at the bar before dinner (because they are reserved for people to eat) but the seasonal menu with all fresh ingredients was incredible. There were lots of small plates for the table to share.

BlackBird is a high quality, great energy, and well worth Tappas spot. My main meal was the Roasted chicken, it was absolutely perfect, crispy skin, juicy flavor, probably the best roasted chicken i’ve ever had. I highly recommend the pita & Hummus, scallops, and wings too!

What an incredible meal! I got the chef's tasting menu while sitting at the bar. The amount of food I received was unbelievable! Well worth the amount of money spent. Highlights include the cacio e pepe (perfectly al dente and creamy with just the right amount of pepper), the badger flame beets (earthy, but not overly so), and the golden tilefish (I didn't know fish could get that crispy!). You can clearly tell how much the chef cares about the ingredients going in to each dish. Cocktails are also delicious (I got One of the Boys). The staff are incredibly attentive. If I lived closer, I'd be going monthly! I highly recommend checking Blackbird out if you're in the area.

Food and cocktails were delicious. Very good service. I wish they had a larger menu . Thought it was very dark. If you like that you will enjoy it.

Absolutely amazing! Best cocktails and old fashion drinks. High quality menu, delicious and eloquent dishes and exceptional service especially from our server who explained each dish and made it very warm and intimate for us to enjoy the experience of each dish. One of my favorite spots in LI!! Highly recommend for a date night or dinner/drinks with friends.

Blackbird Kitchen, 5 stars! Came here last night with my boyfriend for the first time after passing right by it often. Where do I begin?! We did not have a reservation, however it was not an issue we were seated right away. The service was top notch, Amanda was our server and really great, in addition she really knew the menu. The Chef allowed us to order the tasting menu, and without a doubt it did not disappoint. Every dish was delicious, in my opinion little plates of art. Well done Chef! The cocktails, so refreshing! I ordered the Say Anything (so good) & my boyfriend had the Holla Back y~u~m!!! We can not wait to go back! From start to finish SUPERB! What a GEM!

Dark room with warm lighting, friendly and attentive staff, and unique cocktails and a delicious menu. Plenty of intriguing small plate options to start, but we went with the wings and the tuna tartare. The roasted chicken had an amazing chorizo stuffing with fresh brussel sprouts. Rigatoni came with a mouth watering homemade sausage. Highly recommended date spot for an intimate evening.

This is a must try! Everything we ordered was delicious. Service is impeccable.
