Perfect stay for me. There was nothing I wanted that wasn't already provided. Though the Inn was "full" I never saw another living soul (I'm sorry but for me and my anxiety this is a plus). It was a lot quieter than I though it would be. Temperature was great. Everything I needed in the kitchen was available. Used the fridge when needed- coffee and tea great and always available. Again just a perfect stay in a perfect location for me.
We spent a night in the lovely McIlvaine Room in this beautiful 1880s inn. We had a private modern bathroom and our sitting area overlooked the main street, but it was very quiet. The inn has games in the parlor, a kitchen for use by guests and seemingly everything one might need, including water, soda, ice cream treats and an amazing coffee machine. The inn is decorated with antiques throughout. The location is good too. Breakfast is on your own.
We had the most amazing time downstairs with another couple that we met that night. Established life-long friendship from The Black Squirrel . Nice outdoor space in the front and back. Excellent to walk to the local farmers market and other town shops.
This has become our 'go to' spot for our regular trips to Wooster for college pick up and drop off duties. Rooms and the house are beautiful and well kept. The brew to order coffee machine is a nice perk! With our son being a senior, we'll miss our regular visits, but highly recommend the Black Squirrel- it's a great location and experience.
Quaint antique house repurposed to bed&breakfast; only four rooms available, beautifully furnished with antique furniture, large bathrooms and lively common spaces (living rooms, kitchen, front door patio, back garden). The owners don’t live there but are close by and everything is set up before you arrive. No breakfast but plenty of snacks and coffee. The downtown of Wooster is 15’ walk distance.
After a 77 mile bike ride, the Black Squirrel Inn offered just the respite I needed. Beautiful calming interior, a great nights sleep, and a wonderful morning conversation with Adam. His Innkeeper skills and attention to detail clearly come through in the experience at the Black Squirrel.
Highly Recommend!
For three nights my husband and I enjoyed the comforts of Black Squirrel Inn. It's owner is a fantastic chef who served delicious and just the right size breakfasts in the midst of a very hot spell in Wooster OH: quiche, vegetable stratta, and clafoutis, to name just three. Jessica has a strong relationship with the local food cooperative and built her menus around the freshest local ingredients. The coffee was delicious and locally roasted, too.||||The room was beautiful and quiet. On the second floor, the Schwartz room has a large, attached bath with its own jacuzzi. Air conditioning, even in the midst of a heat wave, was excellent. And the public rooms are full of interesting antiques and memorabilia.||||We stayed three nights, long enough to feel thoroughly welcomed. We hope to return in the fall.
Charming and affordable- came to see a family member and a performance here and this was a perfect little resting place. currently no breakfast but they have an espresso machine, teas, hot chocolate and snacks. Highly recommend for lodging.
Very friendly and helpful baristas! Coffee and latte were awesome! And reasonably priced! Would highly recommend! Want to go again if I'm in the area!!
I live down the street from here and love it when we decide to go for pizza while these guys are open. Their pizza is phenomenal, and the owners are the sweetest. The handmade ice cream sandwiches are also amazing. This place is a true gem!
My kind of place! Loved the brown sugar shaken espresso. Very local feel, and very cosy. A spot where it is easy to get comfortable, and get some caffeine in my blood.
