The location was great, as you can just ski outside. The locker rooms were also great for storing our skis overnight. The lobby was very luxurious with many amenities. The only problem was that we had to use two elevators to get to our room, but we can book a different room next time. Amazing place to stay in Deer Valley! I highly recommend staying here.

What an amazing place. We stayed in a giant 4 bedroom 6 bath penthouse condo (4,000 sq ft!) at Black Diamond Lodge that was sweet. It was unit 243, which is apparently the gem of the condo. The rooms are all large and each has a bathroom en-suite. The loft area had a massage chair, a new Jurassic Park pinball machine and a Pac Man machine with 50 games or so on it. Sitting in the 6 person hot tub while it was snowing out after skiing doesn't suck.||||Note Black Diamond is one of the only REAL Ski-in Ski-out places. It sits 100 feet above Snow Park Lodge so you ski down to the lifts and easily ski back to the ski locker. There is no hiking, walking, polling or anything. Just walk out where the ski guy has nicely laid your skis on the ground with your poles on either side, clip in and ski away. Kids can't complain about anything now!||||They have free breakfast (free is my favorite word) plus a great included happy hour with wine, beer and food. The front desk staff are all super friendly and helpful with any arrangements and transportation needs. ||||Favorites by person:||mine - Jurassic Park Pinball. ||Wife - Ski concierge helping kids get their stuff ||Daughter 1 (15yo) - Ms. Pac Man. She's addicted.||Daughter 2 (13 yo) - Awesome pancakes in the morning in the lobby. ||||Thanks Mike and Susan and Baile for making our 3rd trip their so awesome. Tell the owner his unit rocks!

Every Summer, I attend a conference in Deer Valley and have stayed at many lovely places in the area including the St. Regis and other lodges. I will never stay anywhere else, the Black Diamond Lodge is outstanding on all levels. The level of customer service was outstanding, sending an email before arrival asking for any requests, or needs ahead of your arrival. Susan at the front desk was so helpful and pleasant. The accommodations are gorgeous, and a great value for the price to be in one of the best locations in the valley. You are looking out at the lifts, mountains, can watch the summer concerts for free, and are a short walk to to the St. Regis, Deer Valley lake for SUP and the delicious cafe or rent mountain bikes and head up the trails. We loved the stocked kitchen, and our kids loved the game room downstairs with ping pong, Wii, Jenga, foozball and games. We will return! The 3 bedroom could easily accommodate 11 people!

My wife and I took our daughter, son in law and two 5 year old grand daughters to Deer Valley Resort and stayed at the Black Diamond Lodge. I begin by saying the Black Diamond Lodge is the best skiing lodge we have ever experienced. The service is second to none. Susan Beck was one of the staff that I want to commend. This young lady was exceptional with her handling of our arrangements with enthusiasm. All while on crutches from a skiing accident. Also, Chris the attendant at the ski locker room made our handling of ski equipment effortless.| The lodge is perfectly located at the side of Deer Valley Plaza and is a REAL ski in ski out facility. They have a complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon happy hour that is very good as well. They also provide shuttle service to restaurants and such.| Can’t say enough about how much our group enjoyed our stay at Black Diamond Lodge!||

The Black Diamond Lodge was perfect for our MLK weekend ski trip to Deer Valley. We were 3 moms and 4 kids, and the location next to ski school/ snow park lodge could not have been better. The bunny slopes were right outside our window.||||We rented a 3 Bedroom/4 Bath condo. I was a little hesitant as the decor online did not look so appealing, but the condo/amenities were beautiful in person. Modern and clean. ||||Condo: Well laid out, spacious, modern, great storage space. Flat screen TVs in each room, and in the den/living room. Kitchen had every utensil/appliance you might need though we did not cook during our short stay. One bathroom had a sliding door that kept getting stuck, and another bathroom’s shower door broke during our stay. Otherwise unit was well-maintained. Hot tub on unit deck was nice after a day of skiing.||||Housekeeping: Unit was pristine when we arrived. Day to day, it seems like they just tidied up but did not clean thoroughly (ie. bandaid wrapper on floor that one of the kids dropped remained there after the cleaning). ||||Service: Exceptional. Front desk staff/manager, ski valets were so helpful and gracious. Everyone was pleasant, accommodating, and smiling (despite our rambunctious group). Liked the use of texting to contact staff.||||Ski Valet: Such a nice feature to be able to ski back to the condo, and have the valet help us with our boots/store equipment. One set of our ski boots was misplaced overnight and the manager personally went down to skier services to get a replacement. The ski valet helped us carry back our ski returns at the end of our trip. Again, staff/service was wonderful. Minimal to no lugging of ski equipment if you stay here, which was ideal for us!||||Amenities: Continental breakfast (pastries, oatmeal, cereals) was complimentary. It was held in the kids’ playroom and there was not much seating, but we preferred taking the food up to our room anyway. The coffee machine was great -- and could make any hot chocolate/coffee drink you could think of. It was also located in playroom, and available all day. Finally, there was a complimentary apres ski spread with wines/beer/soft drinks, appetizers (turkey chili one day, deli meats/bread another), cookies put out daily.||**Kids playroom has a wii, ping pong table, ?foosball I think, games, chalkboard -- the kids enjoyed it.||||We had stayed at Montage in a 4 bedroom residence previously. That was very nice (with many on-site activities over Thanksgiving) but I would consider Black Diamond comparable in terms of comfort and convenience (especially when traveling with kids and wanting to be close to ski school). Black Diamond wins for warmth and complimentary features (breakfasts/apres ski). And the unit we stayed in was equally nice, cozier, and a better value. Montage is larger (so more walking). It has better toiletries and resort features (ie indoor pool/bowling/tubing/smores). So depends on what your are looking for...||||Overall, great stay. Would return and stay here again. As an aside -- next time, will rent skis from ski butlers or similar instead of deer valley resort -- as that would make the trip even more convenient. Would be curious how Black Diamond compares to Trail's End, which seems to have more reviews on Trip Advisor.

BDL is well located at the base of the mountain. We first picked it because it is the easiest place to get the kids to ski school. The condos are spacious and the staff does a nice job at the property, from the front desk to the ski lockers. They are friendly and make the overall stay nice, along with a convenience shuttle to town and the nearby area so that you don't need to have a car. Breakfast and the apres-ski snacks are a nice touch and we make use of the hot tub regularly.

Truly a vacation home. A fireplace to keep warm, a hot tub to soak in and super good accommodation. Their wireless internet was super fast! Do recommend coming here although it would be a bit pricey. They also had a steam room and a games room where you could play ping pong and Nintendo switch and other toys for small kids.

Come ready to ski and let Black Diamond take care of the rest. Ski locker service and the lodge's proximity to the mountain can't be beat. The rooms come equipped with hot tubs and one of the rooms in the condo even sleeps 10!! Sauna/steam rooms leave much to be desired, but hey you can't have it all.
