Black Bear Diner - American restaurant in Salinas - 1391 N Davis Rd, USA

I had the Spicy Sausage Omelet and it was delicious. I wasn't expecting the onions, bell peppers, and topped off with homemade chili sauce on top. But I'll tell you... it was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. My waitress was also prefect.

Let me start by saying I was at the restaurant around 7am. The service I experienced was actually extremely amazing. My server Olga was extremely polite, and tentative to me as a customer. She answered any questions I had with a smile on her face and with a positive attitude. The food had a nice presentation and tasted great too. I had something that was new to me, it was Eggs Benedict, but with chicken fried steak instead of Canadian Bacon. The combination made for a flavor bomb with each bite. The hollandaise sauce was a little broken visually, but still tasted great. Biscuits and gravy were super solid and the biscuits are huge. The Potatoes where cooked nicely, but the vegetables in the Country Potatoes could have cooked for a bit longer. They still had the raw taste of a vegetable instead of a grilled or sautéed taste. I will definitely be visiting again in the future, highly recommend.

I offered to buy some red velvet today it was out. Offering place mats with cakes and service they do not have. I looked on the website I was trying to order the the ribeye dinner,and I wasn't able too. Very upset because it says we can order breakfast at 8pm and pot roast at 8am. So I was not able to order the ribeye dinner. Very upset I then ordered the asada tacos because the tacos was great and then there was no meat. Food was great no complaint but presentation and quantity not worth 13.99 for just one taco and no sides. I made just one taco sith that today. Very upset. Who I am is the man who donated 38.oo to make a wish.

Honestly I was confused on the menu, but its alright because the food was worth it. Our server was very kind and fast. Waffles were amazing. Service was efficient and wonderful. I would for sure recommend this diner to others!

This is an amazing place. The service you get is like family. Professional and friendly. Very clean and very original, it's beary 🤣much fun to enjoy a meal here. The menu is extensive and everything I tried was superb. I will go back every time I am in the area. Plenty plaza parking. 🙌👍❤ Kudos, keep it up!

We asked for a table for two. We were told it would be about 15 minutes. No problem. Two ladies came in after us. They were called first. We said, excuse me, we were here first. The other ladies agreed with us. We were told we were next. WHY?? We were here first but we waited. Then they sat ANOTHER party of two. Again we asked. Well he was waiting for a booth. All the while a table was available they could have seated us at. When they did seat us they took us in back and then totally embarrassed me because they made me stand there while they moved tables around to accommodate my size! Wasn't necessary but if you felt it was why didn't you do that before? AND the two ladies seated before us were seated at a table for eight! Food was ok but they did forget my friends bacon. Will not be going back

Outstanding customer service in a clean dining room. Super clean restrooms. Best of all the food is delicious, fresh and large portions. Safe place to take the family and friends. Can't wait to go back again. Two thumbs up.

Customer service was great. Breakfast...nah...not exciting. They offer sugar-free syrup but the pancakes are made of sweet cream??? Thick bacon??? Two small regular extra crispy slices. The biscuit is more a dinner roll. I don't think I will return.
