Black Bear Diner - American restaurant in Torrance - 24021 Hawthorne Blvd, USA

8 months ago I was in Arizona and stopped and ate at a Black Bear Dinner in Bullhead. I believe I did a review, anyway when I saw that they were here had to go. The first thing I noticed was the difference in the setup. Bears everywhere. And you can purchase the different types of Black Bear items. Now the food... I ordered the meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Let me tell you about the green beans. So full of flavor I was mad that the bowl was small! Yes. It's that good if you like little chucks of bacon and onions. The meatloaf was average, not bad could've put vegetables or more seasoning. The mashed potatoes were good. So glad they are close because I will be back for breakfast 😋

Let me start off with Mama Bear Jeanette, she was so welcoming, kind and so funny! She definitely helps you feel comfortable especially if you are new to the area. The food was fresh and they serve you extremely large portions, so be ready to eat. I will be 100% returning

This was my wife & I first visit To Black 🐾 Bear 🐻 Diner on Hawthorne blvd. Near Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). We went there on Saturday night for dinner There's plenty of parking But only two handicap ♿️ we sit down at the booth The waitress came up to us To take our order The menu is like a newspaper📰her name was Lori She was very polite and kind. helpful on Taking our order We wasn't there 5 minutes before Our Salad 🥗 came We didn't get through the salad before our Main course To the table. I had the BBQ spare ribs🐮 and shrimp 🦐 The ribs were nice and tender with a lot of barbecue sauce My wife had the Turkey dinner She said it was very moist. My bill was pretty reasonable two $45.83 I would definitely Recommend to family and friends Believe me, we will be going back for more. The food was Great and Excellent!! They even have a little section at the checkout for Bakery goods I got a 🍌banana cream pie. My wife got a coconut🥥 cream pie. You gotta run to the Black Bear🐾 and the Restrooms 🚽were very clean 🤗👍....

First and foremost the customer service was excellent the moment we entered the restaurant. George greeted us as we entered and sat us immediately. Even before we sat, he asked us what we wanted to drink. What a concept!!! All restaurants should do that. George was attentive and accommodating throughout our dining experience. 5 stars to George!!! He was the first superstar. The second superstar is Mama Bear. 5 stars to her as well. She was attentive to us and had a wonderful, personable attitude. Both are exemplary in what they do and how provide service to the customers. Thank you George and Mama Bear for a wonderful experience!!!

Super service and great food. Located in the old Bob's Big Boy location on PCH and Hawthorne Blvd. Lots of parking, an extensive diner menu. Had an omelette that was delicious, I think what stands out for me is how friendly the staff is. Quick to seat, quick to take my order. Wait staff friendly and coffee ☕ was strong and flavorful. Highly recommended, say hello to Mama Bear 🐻 😎

We enjoyed brunch here at the Black Bear Diner in Torrance. We were seated within two minutes of our arrival. The service was friendly and okay. The atmosphere was nice! The decor has a log cabin/ great outdoor vibes to it. Our favorite part was the food. The food was great and the portions were more than enough. Coffee refills were nice but I had to call over the waitress on two occasions so I could ask for it. Overall, we like the Black Bear Diner and would eat here again.

Service was a little slow. The food was good. Prices not bad. Affordable. Lots of stuffed bears and things to buy so beware if you take the kiddos. You may walk out with a stuffed bear or two. Those are pricey.

Considering this is both a diner, and a chain, the Black Bear is killing it at the game. There is a wait for a reason on Saturdays. They line moves fast, and it's worth the wait for family breakfast. The food is consistent, a good value for portions, and delivered efficiently. The staff are helpful and friendly. I wouldn't come here expecting fine dining, but it delivers exactly what it promises. I highly recommend sharing a blackberry bear claw with your coffee while you wait for your breakfast. You won't be disappointed. Everyone in our party left happy.
