BirdSong Desert Retreat - Wellness hotel in Nogales - 237 Lado De Loma Dr, USA

Our 2-night stay was perfect. Kestrel cottage is charming; exactly as pictured. We found a generous supply of healthful provisions, a well-appointed full kitchen, comfortable beds and linens, and items for quality solo or family time. Exceptionally quiet and peaceful rural retreat (full dark at night). The views are spectacular with seating placed for experiencing this beautiful, unique area. I highly recommend a visit during the ‘monsoon’ (mildly rainy) season (typically July-August). The growth of lush green is indescribable with an abundance of birds and wildlife. It is very warm outside in the mid-afternoon, but the cottage’s cooling options kept us comfortable and temps were very pleasant at night and in the morning. It is easy to find, prepared for self check-in, with good access to the host but completely private. We came for the excellent birding and nature experiences and were very impressed. We also shopped, ate, and tasted through the Sonoita-Patagonia area. Good experiences everywhere. We were delighted to meet Robin and share our highlights before we departed. Hope to return in December and again in spring.

We found the BirdSong Desert retreat by pure luck when we searched for locations around Patagonia Lake. We wanted to avoid the chaos of going north and opted to go south. Best bet we ever made. First of all, you will feel SO welcome. We booked the Kestrel Cottage, and it was gorgeous. I regretted not bringing more food to prepare because it had a full kitchen and some staples. By the way, you'll go bonkers for the granola. I brought two extra bags home! The property, the pool and spa, the labyrinth, the cool eco shower... SO much to explore! I had an assignment to submit and had fast Wi-Fi and was able to get some work done. But you won't want to. You'll want to go for a beautiful walk, swim, bask in the massive hot tub, sit outside under the stars (check out my crazy pic of the Milky Way I took from one of the Adirondack chairs!), and chat with the awesome owners if they are around. It was so quiet, so serene and so perfect that I still can't stop thinking of it. In fact, the day before we had to come back to the heat, I booked the Hummingbird Casita for the Labor Day weekend to check out the area and get some more R&R. It's perfect and a little slice of heaven. You'll be looking to book your next stay before you even leave.

The hummingbird casita at Birdsong was the perfect place to getaway for a relaxing weekend under the stars. The casita has everything you need to stay in for a long week or use it as a home base to explore everything the area has to offer. The property has an amazing pool and spa as well for relaxing outdoors. We highly recommend staying here and leaving all of your tension and worries behind.

Wow! Our stay at Birdsong exceeded our expectations! Robin has clearly put so much care and thought into her place. All of the thoughtful and unique details (from fresh lemon water in the fridge, high quality toiletries, super comfy beds and delicious homemade granola, to the sweeping views from the large hot tub and the beautiful wind-protected fire pit) made this stay really special and truly rejuvenating for us. We stayed in the Roadrunner Guest House with 3 adults and 2 kids (8 and 11). It felt luxurious but also really comfortable and down to earth. It was nice to be set a bit away from the other rental units so we didn't have to worry about the kids being disruptive. Robin was friendly and responsive and had a lot of good tips regarding the area. We definitely hope to come back! Thanks, Robin!

BIRDSONG IS EXTRAORDINARY AND BREATHTAKING!! It is with great pleasure I write this review of our stay at Birdsong! Absolutely everything was exceptional! The owner- Robin- thought of everything. Everything you could possibly need was there in this home. She even left fresh-homemade granola, and fresh lemon water. This home was extra clean, the beds were super comfortable and we really felt at home. She had games to play, awesome reading material, and the options to sit outside for the views were spectacular. We enjoyed every evening sitting outside for the breathtaking sunsets! We were so busy visiting all the local sites we didn’t have time to share in the other amenities, but we will for sure on our next visit! We feel this is the best place to stay anywhere in southern Arizona! Thanks so much Robin! See you again soon!

We stayed in the hummingbird casita . It was perfect for 2! It was a great space and Robin paid attention to little details such as granola, her own named whole bean local coffee, spices, and water in a glass container in the fridge waiting for us! We really enjoyed the stay and the amenities such as the hot tub!! Beautiful views and Robin and her husband were very accommodating to have our dog stay there and also to give advice of places to go! We really enjoyed it! The views are amazing especially at sunset!

Robin has thought of every last detail at Birdsong Dessert Retreat to make our stay there absolutely perfect. From the beautiful cottage and well equipped kitchen to the amazing amenities and the peaceful setting, we enjoyed every minute and wished that we had booked a longer visit! We will be back for sure!

This was an amazing place. Stayed at the Hummingbird Casita studio and it was more than enough room for my wife, my dog, and I. Practically had the entire place to ourselves. Robin was also a great and accommodating host. Very dog friendly. Clean rooms. Amazing views. What else could you ask for
