Birchwood Cottages is a delightful set of cottages, and one large main house (The Lodge), settled on the west shore of Loon Lake surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains. The cottages can be rented by the week and include a nice sandy beach for the kids to play and swim. Our swimming area is easily accessible by steps that lead to a sandy gradual walk-in, and include a floating dock.

We stayed here for 5 days after our son's wedding. It was awesome. The big house was a great gathering place for cooking, dining and game playing. The beach had chairs, kayaks, a paddle boat and various beach items. Cabins are rustic but comfortable. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great time.
Awesome place to vacation in the Adirondacks! All furnished comfy cottages with view and private beach on Loon Lake. Had a birthday with friends and we appreciated the views on the lake, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit and the lodge has plenty of rooms for a large group. Even saw and heard the loons. We had a wonderful time!
Such a charming and quaint cluster of rentable cabins on a scenic and pristine lake in Upstate New York. Visited my mother who stayed here for a few nights and she was so charmed by the accommodations.
If your looking for a nice getaway, this is the place to rent! My group and I had a wonderful time. We rented all the properties and each one was clean & exactly as described. The site itself is easy to spot and close to town. A short walk across the street there was nice waterfront property which allowed for great relaxing on the beach, swimming and dock space for our boat. There was also water toys including kayaks and paddle boards to use. The owners which extremely responsive and kind, and had caretakers on site to support any needs and maintain the site. Great price and highly recommended!
My mom and dad made this a frequent vacation retreat when my brother and I were young in the 70s & 80s. I have fond memories of the Cottages and attractions in the surrounding area. We always got the cottage on the left side of the entrance, on the hill. I have lost track of the area's attractions, if they are still there or not. Nonetheless, the greater area is an awesome place to vacation.
I love staying at Birchwood! The lake is very soothing to the soul. Cottage #7 - The Adirondack - is perfect for my family. We've stayed here for the last four years every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Owners are accomodating and friendly.
A nice little getaway spot for a family trip for the weekend. Rooms are a good size and space to accommodate thirteen people. Kayaking and fishing on the lake are nice little extras for the kids and adults.

It's a shame I couldn't give Fern Lodge six stars. Peaceful, quiet, Adirondack lodge-style luxury, and yet, not over-the-top snooty. Wendy was a warm and friendly host, as was Sharon. Breakfast was amazing! The views of Friends Lake from our room an
Our favorite winter destination! This is an excellent place to teach kids to ski! Not into skiing? Bring your sleds, ice skates, snow shoes, or cross country skis! There is grisly something for everyone. There is a tow rope for the ski hill. The warm
