Giving this three stars for multiple reasons. I’ll start off with the place was decent and the access to the beach was great. The view from the room was amazing as well but there are multiple things that need to be improved within this facility. For starters, the elevator needs serious maintenance and there is only one elevator for the entire facility. Our door had to be pulled a certain way for the lock to be able to unlock so that we could get into the room. We would have to jiggle the door handle a little and pull the door just right to be able to get in. The rooms need renovating and possibly some reconstruction so that the bedroom door and bathroom door aren’t always banging into each other. Possibly even just some fresh paint may make some difference because the walls were scuffed and dirty looking. The layout of the room was just not good at all. We never had anyone come by to see if we needed anything for our room and when we would go to ask for towels/wash cloths we were almost always told “we are low on wash cloths”. The staff are very friendly but the resources of the entire facility are low. We asked someone to come vacuum our room due to the sand, no one ever came. It makes a huge difference for me when a facility stops by to see if there is anything needed for the room we are staying in and if they need to clean up at all. There are no ice machines, you have to buy bagged ice for $6-7. The water pressure in the bathroom was low and the tub/sink drain very slow. There was a lot of buildup in the sink. Overall the stay was decent and we enjoyed our trip but i wouldn’t book it again.
We had a wonderful experience. Although it's an older hotel, our room was very clean, no bugs, linen was stain free, staff was excellent, location was great, and the beach and other businesses were easily accessible. We will definitely be returning!
experienced several concerning issues that I feel compelled to share. One alarming incident was the presence of rats in the room. When brought to the attention of the management, it was not taken seriously at all. The response from the manager implied that such issues are expected in a beachfront hotel. Additionally, the number of roaches in the room was troubling. The most disturbing experience involved finding blood and feces on the door handle and toilet upon checking in. Had to clean it myself and brought the soiled rag to the front desk as proof. The manager's response the next morning was dismissive, which was very unexpected.
The lack of overnight security and the general disregard for cleanliness and guest comfort are major concerns. While the rates are affordable, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Do NOT bring your kids here. Only if 0 stars were an option!
ITS A 2 STAR hotel not a fancy resort
It’s sad that a lot of the bad reviews are complaints about things completely normal for a 2 star hotel. This place was less than half the price of the others we looked at. You can’t expect a cheap room to be perfect . The bagged ice was a great idea! A huge bag for $6 , instead of a tiny bucket from an ice bin that who knows what got in there after the last person scooped the their ice out.
The room was actually pretty nice for what we usually get for this price range. The ac was super cold, bed was comfy, shower head had great pressure, fridge and microwave was a plus.
The pool and outside area was clean. The swings in front of the tiki bar were awesome. Beach access was super easy and plenty restaurants close by.
The office area has beach necessities and snacks available for purchase.
Cons:
parking is limited. We weren’t excited about having to park across the street but it wasn’t that bad. They will let you park to unload your bags next to the front office.
This is a great place if you need a cheap getaway!
Front desk ladies were also super nice.
The location was great, direct access to the beach, the room & carpet were clean, my only issue in the room was the TV losing signal a couple of times for a minute or two.
The elevator needs an upgrade it's slow and needed work each day I was there, it got stuck 2 times, but it was a quick fix apparently maintenence deals with it regularly.
No free ice, you have to purchase it!
It's a budget friendly stay, they have the tiki bar open near the pool, and plenty of shopping nearby.
Overall I enjoyed my stay.
Stayed at this hotel July 13-20, 2024.
Rooms at this hotel were clean and acceptable. Furniture was older and not same quality found at Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Room price was about 50% less than aforementioned beachfront hotels. Room does not have a safe or a clothes closet. This hotel does have a pool but it can get crowded.
Service was great. Staff was friendly and met all my requests (fresh towels, toiletries, etc.). Staff kept all amenities functional and in working order.
Location was excellent. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.
Overall recommendation: if you’re searching for a discount motel on the beach and can settle for clean, lower quality rooms, this hotel is for you. If you demand the same room quality as a Hampton Inn, don’t book this hotel. ( I would stay again if price remains 50% less than major brand hotels)
One light in the entire room which was just a lamp. We were on the first floor and windows were see through. Small room. Dirty room. Door was very hard to close. Tv didn’t work. Only good things were air worked and fridge cooled good. Wasp on pillow. Dead fly on ceiling in spider web. Shower curtain was cloth so water went everywhere. No covers on mattresses. Towels didn’t smell clean. Sand on floor. Curtains were broken on one side. Had to park across the street. First and last visit.
I decided to take my daughter on a quick trip to the beach before she goes off to college. We stayed 2 nights and I will cherish it forever. From the moment the lady answered the phone, she answered all my questions and in less than 10 minutes I had a room and she was rolling laughing at me which was very inviting at the time. Checked in with the same employee and same cheer!! I got us a city view single room, funds are tight with all this college stuff!! Turned out we had a small kitchen!!! Wow! Super impressed!!! The only things I would change is the ice provided, Limited parking but understandable. Added space for unloading and loading areas would be helpful. The room was cooled off on arrival, clean, quiet, food and drink is located in the office oh and it has a tiki bar by the pool!! All in all, I will be back!!!
