I hadn't been here since I was a kid, about 30 years ago. Since the Tornado, they have rebuilt it & made a very nice museum about the Tornado & Big Well. A lot of history & info inside, plus a nice gift shop, for souvenirs! Highly recommended!!!

It's pretty cheesy, but the history behind the well is interesting and the pictures and timeline of the 2007 F5 tornado that destroyed Greenberg is sadly interesting. It is nice that it is only 2 blocks off Hwy 54. We probably wouldn't have gone if it were further away.

I go here every time I visit Greensburg. The staff are nice and the gift shop has nice shirts, hoodies, and other items. The museum part has the history of Greensburg as well as the tornado. The actual well is very deep and gives a good leg work out to go up. I love the view of the whole town from the top.

Nice little museum, very well done. Very nice facilities. Employees are friendly. Only downside was they didn’t accept cash when we were there. I’m not sure if that is always or just that day. May want to check if you are going and paying with cash.

Great museum explaining the history of the well and of course the devastating tornado and rebuilding of the town of Greensburg! Definitely worth the visit!

More history about Greensburg and the devastating tornado of 2007. The bravery, unity, and strength of the people of Greensburg amazes me! The big well was super cool too, and even had great acoustics! 😉

This town deserves a five star. They capture the American Spirit. Don’t forget the Soda Shop across the road.

I visited this back in 1982 before the F5 tornado of 2007 that took out much of the former museum. The reinvention is splendid. Featuring both the 1887 origin stories, and including the survivor stories from the 2007 tornado. The circular design of the museum lends to the feeling of going through time. The well itself can be viewed through various points on the spiral staircase. You cannot go all the way to the bottom as we did in 1982, but the views are nonetheless unmatched. If you go to the top there is a 360 degree Lookout tower pointing out various structures in town. Great view.
