Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe - Hotel in South Lake Tahoe - 4083 Cedar Ave, USA

The room was clean and spacious. Shower had good water pressure. Lights were adequate in room. Staff was super nice and friendly. Parking was easy and wifi was working great. The location of hotel was very good, close to many spots. Over all we had amazing stay here at Big Pines.

I loved this room. We booked it super late at night, everywhere else was crazy expensive, and honestly we weren’t sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see everything was clean, larger room than expected, and at least in our specific room, there was a bunk bed! Which would have been the most awesome thing if we were traveling with our toddler at the time. Don’t think they all have it, but again, very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely visit again for the value and quality.

It’s on the cheaper side but holds up really well. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful! Rooms were clean and nice no issues there, it’s a bit older but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s good, also super close to everything. Would absolutely stay here again! (I’ve had some cheap places screw me out of deposits for the smallest thing, they didn’t which gives them even more points in my book for not doing that) 9/10 would stay again!

I recently stayed at big pine mountain motel and had an excellent experience. The location is superb—it's close to the center, within walking distance to restaurants, and just a 5-minute drive to the beach. The room was good, and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful upon our arrival. They made sure we had a room that accommodated our family's needs. I appreciate their service and highly recommend this motel for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option to enjoy Tahoe with their family.

I'm not one to write negative reviews. Never have until now. We've stayed here a few years ago, and it was wonderful. I'm not sure what changed. We booked with a third party, and hopefully, we'll get a refund for the two nights (about $500) we didn't stay. While checking in, one guest was ahead of me, getting her room changed for the third time due to miscellaneous issues (cleanliness, air conditioning, TV not working). While checking out after our first night, two other guests were leaving early. One had their room flooded, and the other complained of cleanliness. The woman at the front desk was very patronizing when I was checking out. Offered to put me in another room, or I could leave because "we can't tell you not to leave." For every issue I mentioned, she had an excuse. I don't know if it was because they had to deal with the third party we booked through or because they were dealing with so many unhappy customers, or maybe both. I was told that I had to request a refund through the management email, but I couldn't get a straight answer on what that email was. The third party company sent an email to the address on file. It was returned as a non- address. The guy at the front desk gave me two different addresses that were incomplete. The third party finally offered to contact the hotel front desk directly since they were not helpful to me. Issues with the room: Room was dirty. Carpet left our feet and socks black. The tub was grimy. Splashes of something dark on bathroom walls, shower stall, and shower curtain. Toilet ran constantly. Sink counter dirty. Blood and boogers on the wall near the bed. Food, chips, dog food, and debris all over the carpet. Dog paw prints all over one set of sheets. Brown drips of who knows what on the other bed. Woke up itchy, no sign of bed bugs but probably fleas (owning to dog food and paw prints). Think twice before booking, or at least do a thorough check of your room before paying.

The room is a decent choice for those seeking basic accommodations at a reasonable price. It offers the essentials for a comfortable stay, though some updates and improvements could enhance the overall experience. It’s suitable for travelers who prioritize location and cost over luxury and high-end features.

Room was pretty bad. Shower leaked non stop and caused humidity in the whole place, and there was mold on the floors and ceiling and in the grout of the shower. Beds weren't very comfortable, but had clean linens. The only good part about the stay was that it's close to a beach on Lake Tahoe and with your nightly stay, you can get onto the nearby private beach for $5 per person (I guess it is usually $30?!). Of course, you can find free beaches, but the convenience was quite nice.

Been here several times and always enjoy location and nice rooms. Staff was extremely helpful and informative. Parking was easy and Wi-Fi worked great. Rooms were clean and spacious enough for our luggage. Amenities were great , had all what we needed for short trip to Tahoe
