Delicious soul food and warm hospitality. We came on a Sunday and got the stuffed chicken breast and dressing, cornbread, collard greens, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, and banana pudding with strawberries. Everything was delicious and tasted like being back at mamaws dinner table.
I drove 30 mins from the other side of town to try this place. I did a google search for soul food this place had a picture of “dressing” in the online pic, which is what I was looking for. The inside was nice and clean actually looked better than I thougt it would look. The employees were nice. 👉🏾 The food … the dressing was good, I prefer some gravy and cranberry sauce but it was flavorful enough to not need it. (I did buy some sauce On my way home since they didn’t give me some). The baked chicken and collards were seasoned good. The fish had just the right crunch to it and had a good flavor. The Mac and cheese was not good 😕 unfortunately it had no flavor just creamy. I kind a figured it would be flavorless when I seen it b4 ordered. The Carmel on the cake was a little on the light color side it was just ok I wouldn’t get that again. The bbq ribs is baked in the oven not off the grill, they are tough. Dont order ribs unless u just got a taste for bbq sauce cus those definitely not off the grill. They accept cards for payment. Overall the food was good I will be back.
Simple at home feel. Food had so much flavor and was outstanding. Fried chicken was excellent, Mac & cheese was the best , the green beans were incredible and delicious, everything was delicious and you could tell it was made with love. So happy I stopped by, it took me back to my youth and mom's cooking. AAA+. I was in Louisville for a weekend and will definitely be back here.
Recently moved to the area and was told to go here by a local. I am so glad it did! The food tasted like it came out of grandma's kitchen. I got the smothered pork chops with greens, cabbage, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and corn bread. The pork was mouth watering 😋. My son got the BBQ rib tips, the creamiest mac and cheese (his favorite item), and corn bread. To drink we had to get their Arnold Palmer (sweet tea & lemonade). Such a meal needed to be finished off with a slice of carmel cake. I knew this spot was gonna be great the moment I walked it because I could smell the soul food in the air! I paid a little over $30 and the portions mean I have a meal for later! If you find yourself over in the Parkland neighborhood, make sure you go to this gem. We'll find out way back, for sure!
A bunch of us stopped in this passed Saturday evening. I had the smothered pork chops, corn pudding, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. Later, we had some fruit punch with it. It was absolutely amazing. The owner was so nice to talk to, and everyone else working was really friendly as well. It was a great experience and I can't wait to come by again.
Amazing! From the sweet lady who took my order, to the food. The fried chicken had so much flavor, the Mac/cheese and green beans were phenomenal! I’ll definitely be coming back to this gem.
Myself and a group of my friends stopped in this evening. I got meatloaf, corn pudding, and macaroni and cheese. The food was fantastic and the owner was incredibly sweet to us. I can’t recommend her restaurant enough.
First time going there had to wait close to an hour for meat loaf to get done. Was told it would be ready in 15 to 20 min. I only went there bc my mom wanted some meat loaf, maccheese, cabbage Sweet potatoes, corn bread. I should have checked my food before leaving. I had spaghetti no mc , no sweet potato. Food had no taste. I also got a dinner which it came to $40.00 dollars. Did not mind paying if l had got what l ordered. By the way 3 door dash people came in after we did got there food and was gone. We had been sitting there over 30 minutes before they came. Bad experience.
