I did a late season snowshoe hike around Big Meadows in early June. Most of the snow still covered the trail, except for the sunny side of the hills. The creek coming from the Meadows was full and rushing. The hike was relatively short and easy.
Busy on the weekends, mixed use trail, hiking mountain biking and horses, be aware mountain bikers can be going fast and hiking with earbuds is not advisable
Big Meadow is a great large alpine open meadow to hike to. The hike from the parking area is only about a mile, and the meadow in Spring and Summer is beautiful. There is a creek which appears at one end of the meadow and tons of wildflowers when I visited. A beautiful sight to see.
Better to get out early before the heat kicks in. It's a beautiful hike all the way. Meadow is green, wildflowers and snowflowers, some patches of snow left. Round Lake was high...and lovely.
Quick day hike out from the parking lot to Round Lake. Only a few hours round trip but a lovely hike through the valley, over the ridge and down into the next valley where Round Lake sits. Good lunch spot at multiple locations around the lake and several camping spots too.
You start out on the trail at a moderately steep climb which then turns into switchbacks and when you reach the top the forest opens up to this absolutely beautiful meadow with a meandering brook through it and it's just absolutely gorgeous.
Fantastic hike. Was buggy at Round Lake in early a.m. Trail well maintained. Gorgeous lake and so much exploring. Water higher than I'm used to seeing. Was great to be back. Never enough of the hike thru Big Meadow. Jaw dropping in misty a.m.
Well organized, toilet facilities, info kiosk, large lot with marked spaces. Garbage and water not available (bears be bearing). The initial crossing over the Highway can be treacherous on the curve, people in cars are maniacs and not expecting slow moving folks. No crosswalk means you are on your own kids, be careful. First bit of elevation gain to meadow is a grunt and trail is often dusty and torn up by late summer as you pick your way up or back down the rocky switchbacks. Lovely and worth it. Nice cross country ski spot, amazing butterflies and birds in late June at meadow.

Took this trail to go to Cascade Falls. It's flat for the first 5 mins or so and then becomes rocky and risky at the corners. There is some construction work going on in the area so they have put up temporary boards marking the trail. Good job! It
The Mt. Tallac trail is an amazing trail to hike in Lake Tahoe. It isn't easy, about 4.5 miles from the trail head to the summit with about 3,300 feet of elevation gain. The second half of the trail is mostly all rock and is very steep in parts. The
Beautiful hike to Eagle Lake that took about 30 min after the bridge. This time of year there was snow and ice on the trail that made it slippery but was worth the quick trip up and back.
Cascade Falls is a beautiful waterfall on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. It is easily accessible and is only about a .75 mile hike from the main road to the falls. The views of Lake Tahoe and Cascade Lake along the way to the falls are fantastic, and
This is a must see. Really cool area. I hadnât really seen it in any of our research prior. It was as I was driving down the road that I saw âBalancing Rockâ on a road sign. I even turned around to go back. I thought if this is anything li
The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.
Went with my daughter and husband and came from the heavenly line since the wait at the resort was 2 hours! They helped us right away and we were able to get all the equipment we needed in a reasonable time frame. The staff are super friendly and acc
The hotel is new and beautiful. The rooms were extremely clean and well stocked, even the kitchen had everything we could potentially want! The bed was super comfortable, the heated floors in the bathroom were great. (Down one star for our ground fl
Brunch was good. Parking was easy. Had a short wait. Chicken fried steak was a good ratio of breading to meat. Hash brown were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Coconut French toast was a good portion. Overall everyone was happy with what they
While entering the North Lake Tahoe area, the first thing you can see is Eagle falls streaming down the mountains towards Lake Tahoe. The Eagle falls originates from Eagle lake and culminates at Lake Tahoe. There is a trail to the Eagle Lake, but we
Very friendly customer service, and not to mention dog friendly, which we love. The beer is excellent and the brew master was very polite with us. I wish I had a chance to buy stickers of the brewery as I am a collector, but it just means I will have
Lake Tahoe is beautiful. Lots of trees, clear water, and we had blue skies. Mountain scenery around the water. It was a lovely vacation. I enjoyed it very much.
This place is gorgeous. We came at the end of May. WOW!!! This is beautiful. You have to see the photos because words just don't begin to describe the beauty ð
We stayed in the Rubicon Room and it was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was wonderful and we absolutely loved the lodge, the roaring fireplace, the big beams, and the gorgeous courtyard. Well worth it!
