Medical excellence! I went in for a biopsy; I was extremely anxious. The team recognized my anxiety on my medical history and made sure to take care of my mental health through the biopsy and waiting process. The doctor and all assistants told me everything they were doing while they performed the biopsy, gave me every detail they could after the biopsy and called me multiple times to check on me while I waited for the biopsy results. The actual biopsy was performed by the doctor, who was excellent. He told me everything he was doing and continued talking to me through the biopsy to ease my anxiety. He performed the surgery with no pain and the site healed beautifully. Once the results finally came back, the team called me immediately. For anyone who has dealt with mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, you will understand that having a doctor and staff that understand is life changing, especially when dealing with something as scary as potential cancer.

The office of Big Island Oral surgery is new, clean, beautiful and very organized. The staff is friendly, patient and very helpful. Dr. Rotwein is meticulous, conscientious, professional and friendly. He called me personally the day after a complicated procedure to check on me. When I needed further after care, they got me in within a few hours and did everything they could to make sure everything was ok. Everything is ok, thanks to Big Island Oral Surgery. My dentist gave me a couple options for seeing a dental surgeon to start my dental implant process and of them, recommended me to see Dr Rotwein who although was fairly new to the Big Island he spoke so highly on his patient satisfaction, his amazing work, and great bedside manners. I took my dentist’ recommendation and received the new patient forms that was sent via text from Big Island Oral Surgery and was able to fill everything out through my phone, the next day I received a call from the staff to schedule my consultation appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk staff were so sweet and Dr Rotwein was very kind and focused on helping me attain my dental goals through a detailed care plan, he did a full comprehensive visit explaining every detail of my imaging that they took in house and walked me through the entire surgical process: measurements, what to expect, recovery time, post-op care etc. they made me feel so comfortable on surgery day and again walked me through each step of the process and made sure I had no concerns before starting, shortly after, everything was done. That same evening I received a call from Dr Rotwein following up on how I was doing and walked me through my procedure, how it went and encouraged for me to reach out if I ran into any concerns. By the next day I was already back at work, the swelling was minimal and there was almost little to no discomfort. I made sure to follow his care plan, all of his instructions and went to all of my post op follow up visits and everything turned out PERFECT! He does not hide his imperfections, and makes me fully aware of what the next steps will be if the healing process was not to his expectations, but everything did go just as he anticipated. I won’t hide the “nitty gritty”, dental work is costly, BUT DONT let that prevent you from taking care of your dental health, their office worked with my dental coverage PLUS they are partnered with companies that help cover the up front cost of the procedure (which I took advantage of) so I could pay over time AND I could start the process immediately! With no hesitation, I refer all my friends and colleagues to Dr Rotwein for any kind dental procedures that they need to get done. I cannot express how happy and grateful I am to say that after 10years, Dr Rotwein and his team gave me my smile back and to give someone that type of self confidence back…. Speechless.❤️
