This place was very nice bed was comfortable back didn’t hurt at all when I woke up which is a major plus for me!. I didn’t like that only a few people were staying there at the same time as me and my husband stayed and they put us right next to the other tenants that were there. Not that we are loud nor were they, I just like to have the most privacy as possible something I love and pay for. The room we stayed in was very nicely decorated the fridge was like a 50 or 60’s fridge I absolutely loved it! It was just very cozy and I love the decore and really loved the thought they put into decorating the room. Love the no smoking the rooms smelled great! And people that ran the place are very nice and respectful would definitely stay again if needed.
Very nice place. Staff was exceptional. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Very hot water too. Loved the small 'fridge and freezer had room for our 11 ice packs that froze nice and solid by morning. The little touches, like towels shaped on the bed, closet with extra pillows, blankets, and tray tables, were great.
This place is very clean. Staff is friendly. The bed was amazing. It had a table & chairs, microwave, cute retro fridge. They thought of everything. Nice mom & pop place. We could see the Lake from our room! I would definitely stay here again.
This is a true Mom & Pop Motel. Yes it is an older roadside motel but it is quaint and very clean with a comfortable bed. It does come with a fridge, microwave and a coffee pot. I love how they have a towel on the floor at the door to wipe your feet if it is raining and also they provide a towel for bikers to wipe off the seat if it get wet and we did have to use the bike towel. These are just small perks that you do not see in hotels rooms. Thank you for catering to bikers. We just loved that old feel of room. The bathroom still has the original tiles, sure some are cracked but it has that nostalgic look. One item I would like to see, is better locks for the doors. A deadbolt perhaps. If we do travel through Alpena again, we would definitely stay there. Also both of the owners were super nice and friendly. Thank you again.
A real gem. Room was small but it was spotless ! Soft cozy bed. Furnishings are retro (particularly loved the retro looking little fridge). Great restaurant next door that we walked to. Then returned and sat on the swing out front. Directly across from a park on Thunder Bay. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.
Very clean and comfortable. Beds are great, loved the vintage feel. Bathroom needs a bit of work, had some cracked tiles and toilet very loose but over all I liked the place. Had some confusion about reservation but that happens sometimes.
Super clean, nostalgic 50's Era motor lodge. The owners seem like wonderful people. Patio chairs in front of the rooms, the view of the lake. Was a perfect place to sit & relax with a book!
We really enjoyed our stay . It was like home . Extra pillow and blanket in the closet . Extremely clean room . The sweetest people they were so helpful .
The recreation area is a old quarry and shipping dock. The area now has a boat ramp and numerous walking trails. Because of the past mining activity fossils of all kinds can be found. DNR passport required.
Always enjoyable. Actors and crew put their hearts into the performances. We've been season ticket holders since the 80s . The only downfall is accessibility for handicapped folks.
Awesome place! Oldest Miniature Golf course in the state! Someone mentioned that it is closed, that is not the case - it's only open in the summertime. Be sure to also check out The Hungry Hippie located just beside it!
Cozy shop with local merch including upscale tshirts, sweatshirts, magnets, stickers, mugs and decor. I always stop in and purchase something when I'm in the area.
What a hidden gem in my small town!!! . Absolutely amazing food . The potato soup I'm the bread bowl is literally 11/10. The food is very fresh and the staff is super nice. 10/10 most definitely recommend. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite
My husband and I drove here to go fishing early morning during labor day weekend. It was nice and quiet. The water was shallow so we only got bluegills. At night there's no lights and you can hear some movement in the woods it can be pretty daunting.
They have a beer for everyone. My wife ended up liking 3 beers and usually she likes one if that. Great Menu with Huge Portions at a great price. The service is impeccable. Lots of space during inclement weather, even more space when itâs nice out.
I donât normally do reviews, but this place deserves praise. I ordered the Golabki burger with the sweet potato waffle fries with a side of zesty sauce, and itâs my favorite dish in town. I called it in, walked in 15 minutes later sat down and it
Our first time in and it was wonderful, the burger was delicious and our waitress was so friendly and helpful! The hoo fries are incredible! 10/10 would recommend for the personal friendly atmosphere!
This store almost never disappoints. They have an excellent meat counter and a really good dips homemade. Their meatloaf mix is to die forâ£ï¸ Even though they're a small IGA, Perch's most times have everything I need. You do have to watch for date
