Absolutely beautiful hiking route. The boardwalk is well maintained and offers excellent views. Can use the boardwalk route to enter the state park and complete a loop around the bluffs, highly recommend.
Best and cleanest camp site I’ve been to. The sites may be kind of close to each other so be prepared to see each other. I prefer the walkins as they have more trees and bush for privacy. The showers are not free and you pay about a dollar for a few minutes. Free portable water is onsite and the bathrooms are always so clean and do not stink!! The lagoon is super fun and you can bridge jump, rent a canoe for a few bucks or walk across the rocks in shallow areas. The beach is beautiful and you have a fun view of the lake and the state park side. Note. No filters on these pictures! Beautiful!!!
Great park and campground. $40 per night for electric with 20, 30, 50 amp hookups. $33 non-electric. Check in at noon and check out at 11am. Flush toilets with quarter showers. Reservations needed as it is hard to get in. Sara was the host and very helpful. She got us in same night as there was a cancellation. We had no internet on island so be prepared. May have internet in town, but internet available at park was not good.
The lady who told us all about the park was so very nice and informative. They ask for about $2/person/day to help with expenses. The views are breathtaking and you can walk all the way down the sand/boardwalk and see the lagoon.
The campground is very nice and the manager was really nice and accommodating. We checked out like 15 campsites before choosing one that fit 4 hammocks and 4 motorcycles. The price was also pretty decent at $25 between the four of us. 10/10 highly recommended, especially over the state campground at the other end of the park.
Our family had a great time!
Fantastic beach with very fine sand and crystal clear water. The water can be chilly, but you're on Lake Superior, get used to it. Lots of agate hunting opportunities and an enormous peaceful bay that makes for great beach walks. Canoe and kayak rentals are available here also.
Beach access with comfortable sand that stretches over a mile. There is a well maintained wooden boardwalk which parallels the beach and is mostly covered by native evergreen trees. You should be aware that navigating a staircase is necessary to descend to the beach/lakeside from the park. My family enjoyed this beautiful, free park a lot!

Beautiful park with scenic trails. Boardwalk takes you between Lake Superior and the lagoon. You won't see too much wildlife. We only saw birds and squirrels. No movement on the lagoon from any wildlife. If you visit Madeline Island, the park is a mu
