Big 7 Motel - Featured Reviews (19)
Very very reasonable price. I will admit, I knew the Prior Owners Jim And Maria A. Charm, character. A pharmacy nearby, and a few restaurants. Ski all day Saturday,... check in, grab some dinner and watch a movie. Sunday morning, grab a cup of coffee and walk on the beach only 1 min away. Stayed there dozens, I do mean dozens of times. Still has the feel of a North Shore Tahoe "rustic community".
First off, the manager Robert was totally cool and made us feel plenty welcome. The room was outdated but had everything we needed and was very clean. Extremely comfortable- wasn't there to look at the latest trends in interior decorating anyway. I especially loved that check out wasn't until 12 noon. I HATE being rushed out in the morning when I stay in motels/hotels so that was truly refreshing. There was a microwave and a fridge for our snacks. Coffee is in the office in the morning. Room was quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it to anyone in Kings Beach area for a concert or event. Can't beat the price!!
My friends often stay here last-minute, as there are usually some rooms available after a day of skiing. We were lucky enough to find 2, each for $65 after taxes. The rooms were pretty simple, with a very warm shower, large closest for gear, and a big bed. ||||Our TV didn't turn on, but it actually made the experience better, as we sat doing crosswords before falling asleep very early after a full day on the slopes.||||The owner couldn't be nicer, and when we checked out there was a basket of chewy granola bars for us to enjoy while skiing later that day.||||Highly recommended, I will be coming back here.
Disclaimer: I have a not stayed here (and never will...) ||||I have to share a horrible experience with you and hope that you choose to not bring this hotel your business. ||||I stopped outside the hotel to pick up tickets from a coworker at the restaurant across the lot. I had been parked for 2 seconds and the owner or manager (not sure which) was outside screaming, cursing, and threatening physical harm to my vehicle if I did not move. I asked who he was and informed him I would be there for less than 2 minutes. The car was still running and my wife inside. He flipped a lid. ||||I informed him in would be steering my friends away from his establishment and his reply was "good tell them to stay the f&#$ away". I so in figured in could do one better and tell the world. ||||Do yourself a favor. The place is a dump, there are other hotels in the area (prob get a better deal at Cal neva), and avoid the jerk who runs the place.
The prices here at the big 7 are reasonable. However, there is no Wi-Fi or air conditioning. There is not even a table to use or a chair to sit on if you were to try and use a laptop. What you get here is a bed, a bathroom, a TV, a heater, and a fridge and coffee maker. It's not glamorous, but it will get the job done.
The Manager was very Polite and Helpful, and the rooms were neat and clean.......A nice little Motel with close proximity to Squaw valley, Mt rose, northstar
Manager is super nice, rooms and shower are clean, water is very warm and bed was comfy. All of this for very reasonable price
Cheapish, no frills motel. Stay here for closer access to Northstar than Truckee and the great walkability of Kings Beach.
We recently stayed at the Crown Motel for 3 nights at the end of November. Highly recommend this hotel for the amazing views, value, and friendly service from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Our room was comfortable and impeccably clean. Th
