Betty Rose's Little Brisket - Barbecue restaurant in Abilene - 3934 Catclaw Dr, USA

We decided to try this place, and were disappointed. We shared a 3 meat platter with cornbread, green beans, and potato salad. The ribs were tender, but had a funky taste. The brisket was tender and tasteless, and the pulled pork also no flavor. The bbq sauce provided was not good at all, the green beans were the best part just because they were actually warm. The potato salad had a hair in the center and was mush. The cornbread is very dry even with butter on it. After waiting for a server to come we had to flag one down. She said “Oh, sorry about that.” And she left until she came back with the check. They gave us a $1.80 discount! We went to the register to pay, and told them it was sad. They ended up not charging for our food which was nice, but we will never eat here again. I feel like this used to be a nice place to eat. We will never know.

I liked the brisket and sausage. The corn was pretty good too. The fries came out barely warm, but they were the kind that didn't NEED to be hot to be edible. The corn bread was a little dry, but I didn't add butter. Ask for the "hot" bbq sauce. It's better than the stuff on the table and not very hot.

Shirts say best in town should say worst service in town. Took a long time to get service and had to flag someone down to get menus. Correct me if I'm not mistaken most BBQ joints the meats are already prepared. So why would it take a long time to get my order. Over all food was not that hot and by all means just basic. Actually just sad.

I waited 1 hour in drive through. Most cars were not ordering alot of food. I got 2 sandwiches and 1 Brisket Potato. I asked when she gave me the bag does it come with BBQ Sauce. She told me yes. I got home and did not have BBQ for my brisket potato. That is beyond frustrating when I waited an hour and asked to make sure. Will not be back. There was a reason we stopped coming here.

The Outlaw and Double Outlaw burgers aren't just sandwiches, they are culinary experiences... If you're ever passing through Abilene, Texas this is the meal to get... The Betty Burger is the base of the Outlaws with a delicious layer of sliced brisket on top... I've never considered trying one with mayo or mustard, so I can't offer an opinion on that, but I love them on the jalapeno bun with Pepper jack cheese and BBQ sauce... The grilled chicken sandwich is typically very juicy and also great with BBQ sauce... Great with French fries, but I sometimes get pinto beans or green beans...

Sunday Evening Dec. 3/ Usually have great service, NOT last night! When we arrived only 1 man eating in the larger dining area, in the bar area there was a large party of about twelve! One other table of four and my large party of TWO! Took a long time for waitress to take our drink order even though she walked by our table 4/5 times ! Finally got drinks, waited and waited to order food, we finally decided that the waitress thought she had already taken our order! On one of her trips by we stopped her to order, we had questions about what we were going to order so we asked her to give us a minute! She never came back to the table until we stopped her again! I asked her how much I owed for my beer, I paid her and we left! NOW in her defense she was over whelmed by the table of 12! As we left I told her that they need to get you some help! There was plenty of help there, not sure what they were doing, especially the guy that I presumed was the manager! Thanks for listening!

Stopped in here for an early dinner while visiting the area. Fantastic waitress, very friendly and helpful! Overall the food was very good. The pulled pork, chicken and turkey were all very good. The brisket was excellent. The ribs were a bit on the tough and dry side. French fries were good. Coleslaw was ok. Maybe a little bit bland. Only disappointment was the cornbread which was extremely dry. The peach cobbler is amazing!!

Our patio server was friendly & attentive. VERY flavorful brisket/ham today and side portions seemed smaller than previous visits.
