Best Western The Plaza Hotel - Hotel in Honolulu - 3253 N Nimitz Hwy, USA

We chose this hotel due to proximity to airport. Having a free shuttle to and from airport was good except that you had to ring hotel to organise pickup from airport instead of just going to shuttle stop. Hotel quite tired but bed was comfortable. Our room faced the highway so traffic noise was an issue. Thankfully only therefore one night. Main issue was the free breakfast. Breakfast finished at 9 am and we arrived at 8.30. The hot food was almost gone and there was no effort to replace even though staff were aware of this. A lot of people made do with pancakes but scrambled eggs, etc should have been restocked.

The breakfast area was far too small for the number of people at the hotel. The selection of food was not as broad as other comparable hotels. There was no water or coffee available outside breakfast hours. The hours of operation of the breakfast were short compared to other comparable hotels.|The room was far below Best Western standards. The room was old and dated and listed as a "Courtyard View." What we got was a room with a view of the dog poop area! The room had a window-style air conditioner with manual controls. The air conditioner was positioned right over the bed and was so noisy that we had to choose between being cool in a very hot area or getting sleep. The Door side of the room was facing a very busy McDonalds that was loud late into the evening. The highway noise was unbearable.

This was a trip for business as well as leisure. The room was clean and the room staff was very friendly and efficient. We didn’t want service daily just clean towels and trash collected. The location was very obscure. Not aesthetically pleasing at all. There are a lot of homeless people around the property. Both elevators were not working. The internet didn’t work and the front desk staff said I was the only one having issues. I had to use my personal hot spot to get work done, which was an added cost to an already overpriced underwhelming hotel experience. The parking was overpriced and not easy to traverse. The breakfast selection was less than enjoyable. The powdered eggs were cold. The hash browns were under cooked and there was sausage every single day. I needed extra time for my flight and the hotel could not accommodate me for 3 hours. I will return to Hawaii but not to this facility.

Overall experience was 'OK'... The hotel itself is good and clean but the internet and leaking fridge was not great. The bill was $500 more than I had expected as my quote mentioned 'Your Currency' at the bottom so I was misled to thinking I was looking at CAN$ not US$. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were also very nice, except the Manager who was to busy to hear my concerns. Worst part about the Hotel is the location and the amount of 'Vulnerable Homeless People' who live outside nearby.

Big rooms, but bathrooms smell weird. There is no balcony with the room I had, and rooms overlook highways and buildings. Staff are friendly, but you should not expect potters to help you with your luggage upon check out. Checked out with 2 suitcases and carried them down the elevator. The shuttle service to the airport, on the other hand, was very helpful and on time. Had a stress free checking in at the airport afterward.

Need more shuttles and elevators-carrying suitcases down 8 flights of stairs after waiting for elevator for 10+ minutes in order to get 1 airport shuttle per hour for 274 rooms is just not acceptable. Rooms dated but ok, breakfast adequate, staff friendly

Everything at this hotel was awesome!! from the moment we walk into the lobby the fragrance, customer service was amazing....hallways are a little old but that's ok...the rooms were very nice..amazing beds ..shower was very powerful which is kinda hard to find these days at hotels...Breakfast area and food was very good...when I go back to Hawaii again I will definitely be staying here....

The room was clean and comfortable and that’s probably the most important thing. However, the other details of this hotel weren’t quite as pleasurable. First, our room wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be so we had to take a room near the front of the hotel near the loud interstate. Second, and much more important, one of the two elevators was not functioning so it took literally about 8 to 10 minutes to catch an elevator up or down, and when it finally opened, it was completely packed. On a 12 story hotel, carrying luggage up the stairs is not really a viable alternate option. On a similar theme, the breakfast area does not have enough seating for the amount of people that are trying to eat. The hotel is large, but none of the support systems are robust enough to handle all the people and that creates unneeded stress amongst everyone.
