An enjoyable overnight stay as I made my way west. The spaceship theme is fun, with a flying saucer parked on top of the building, colorful murals above the lobby and an Instagram-worthy alien in the restaurant. I even liked the sparkles built into the outside walls. My room was clean and looked as though it had been recently refurbished. With the windows closed, most of the highway noise was blocked out though you'll know when the freight trains go past on the backside. The pool was nicely shaded in the afternoon, the spa was a good temperature and quite large. Be sure to go for breakfast since it's served in the restaurant and there are several nice choices from a special menu.
We stayed at this hotel on our way to Mexico and only needed a place to stop for the night. We liked the theme but were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Our first room had bugs on the bed and in the bathroom. We were told these are water bugs and harmless but when we checked what they are, we found that these are considered a form of cockroach. The first room was also pretty dirty (my husband checks the rooms with a blacklight) and the air conditioner was extremely loud. The front desk clerk was very polite and helpful. She moved us to another room and did offer a discount on the rate. Unfortunately the second room also had some of these same bugs near the bathroom, which appeared to be coming in from gaps in the baseboard. The room itself was cleaner, but I let the clerk know the second room still had bugs and because we planned to be leaving early in the morning we chose not to ask for another room. This Best Western does not have laundry amenities but does offer breakfast at the adjoining Space Age Restaurant. The food here was ok, not great.
Great place to stay on our way from Texas to California. Rooms are clean and the staff was attentive and helpful. Our air conditioner was making some noise and they sent someone to fix it right away. They offered to move us to a different room, but he was able to fix the problem so that wasn’t necessary. The theme is fun and kids would enjoy all the space touches. Apparently the man who built it in the 1960s supplied NASA with magnesium and was fascinated with the space race. It is motel style lodging and not fancy but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent.
Great overnight option travelling through. The staff was super friendly. The breakfast was delicious and the service friendly. The meal takes a little time so plan accordingly if you want to leave quickly, but breakfast is worth the wait. The rooms are remodeled and clean. Since it's an old motel, the noise level is higher than a newer hotel, but we didn't find it bad. The pool area is great and the parking area is kept clean and tidy. We'd definitely stay here again when travelling through.
Chose to stay at the Best Western Space Age Lodge during a trip moving a friend from Texas to California and this was a convenient stopping g point due to our itinerary. Being a small town with few options, I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness and amenities of this establishment. Arianna who greeted me at check in was very polite, accommodating and friendly. The room was very neat and clean, and it came with all one would need during a stay, WiFi, toiletries, etc. I had dinner at the attached restaurant, the Space Age Restaurant, and had a nice breakfast the next, also included. For anyone passing through the area in need of accommodations, I would recommend choosing the Space Age.
The hotel is remodeled, clean, and has a friendly staff. Nice swimming pool and jacuzzi too. Free breakfast from the restaurant was delightful. It was a welcome stay in the middle of the desert. The room had a table with two chairs and ample lighting, which is rare these days.
When we saw this place existed, we had to stay here during our one-night stay in Gila Bend. We love kitschy motels, and this one fit the bill. The lobby is really into maintaining the space theme. (Don't forget to look up!) What you won't find are tired rooms clinging to kitsch. Our room was recently renovated with engineered wood floors, a super comfortable bed, cozy towels, and drapes that blocked out the light. The bathroom was fine, with the large sink area outside and behind a half wall. Everything was sparkling clean. A train runs behind the motel (no horn) which my husband did not hear. I am a light sleeper, so I heard the train's rumble. Occasionally, a loud truck would go by on the road in front of the motel, and I heard that, too. Husband, not once. Breakfast is included at the space and alien themed restaurant next door. You order off a menu with decent offerings. We also ate dinner there, and that was fine, too. All in all, this is a great place to stay and if we are ever in Gila Bend again, we would stay here without hesitation.
This is the second time we’ve stayed here on our way to or from So. California. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The rooms are impeccably clean and we enjoy a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed. Enjoy your stay in this quaint and fun themed hotel. Breakfast in the restaurant next door was also excellent.
For those of us who were involved with people in New York that day, this memorial was a surprise! Just seeing a small part of the building brings back a flood of memories of that event. I thought Gila Bend did a beautiful job in the design of the me
After being stranded for 5 hours on the interstate with multiple flat tires on a fifth wheel, we landed at this little place in hopes of getting a couple of rooms for the night. We were greeted by a very kind man who was able to accommodate us. We a
Weâve been there twice now, both times did not disappoint. Hot, great portions, reliable. Came up from Ajo and are pleasantly surprised and impressed by the food and service here. Reminds us of a favorite in PDX, definitely a great stop and will b

It's Burger King after all but the service was quick and friendly, the food was cooked right and actually looked similar to the menu picture and the restroom was clean and well taken care of. Very unusual for a major travel stop. The owner/ Mgr must
