Best Western Richmond Hotel - Hotel in Richmond - 100 Eastern Bypass, USA

I have been staying here at this location for the past week, with my family. We have had some of the friendliest staff I have seen. From front desk, to maintenance, house keeping and even the remodeling team. Whether I'm needing something or just walking through the halls, everyone speaks or waves.Yes, they are doing some remodeling and at times we may here a little something here and there but over all, I think that everyone has been fantastic. From Lindy, Carla, Jimmy, and others I have met in this short time, everyone has shown great hospitality and been very great to me and mine. I will definitely stay again and would recommend. Location is great and so is the staff!!!

Check in was great with friendly staff and excellent directions to our room. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The rooms were nice with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was on the small side but had good quality tolietries. The bed was comfortable with a nice selection of pillows. The TV was on the desk which takes up a lot of space. The light runs across the top of the bed and it is either on or off. No other reading light is available. The A/C worked great and was relativility quite. The curtain did not cover the window well and let in some light. The halls were on the dim side and the carpet was dated but as I stated earlier with rennovations going on this should be corrected soon. The breakfast was solid, nothing to write home about but good. Sausage, egg, bacon, toast, bagels, cereal, juice and coffee. The breakfast attendant was very nice. They have pet friendly rooms and a pool with hot tub and an exercise room. There are several restaraunts nearby to eat at. Even though the building is a little dated it is still a good place to stop.

Check in went ok. The front desk person wasn’t inviting, and offered no assistance. It smelled “off” in the lobby. There was a sign stating they were doing renovations. Nowhere in booking did it state this, or we wouldn’t have stayed here! We drove around to our room, and there was construction materials right outside our door. Rolls of carpet inside the door. The pool was brownish, green and it smelled like chlorinated mold in the pool area. The halls were dark and the carpet was filthy. Our room was half renovated. The fridge fell out of the cabinet when we tried to open it, and there was no door on the freezer part of it. There was a low spot in the middle of the room where the linoleum was cracking and every time someone stepped in that area, the floor crunched. There was no soap of any kind in the bathroom, we had to call and ask for some. The front desk person brought us a bar of zest soap, told us they had no more pillows to give us an extra, and when we showed him the floor, he said ok, he will add it to the list. There were no towel bars and the sink was dirty. It dripped water all night long. The toilet wouldn’t flush either. Breakfast was a joke. Nothing was hot. There were only 3 pieces of bread and enough juice for one person. The breakfast attend was friendly. This hotel is very outdated, and the renovations are only half done. It really shouldn’t be open until renovations are done. Old Sinks were dumped outside the windows, and it was pretty dirty and dingy.

It was alright for what we paid for. The hallways were dark and lights were out in places. The place looked spooky to walk through. When we got in our room it smelled TERRIBLE. Luckily we had some spray to cover whatever mildew smell that might've been. Everything that was supposed to be white was yellow - I. E. the sheets, towels, and bath tub. It was just gross. Surprisingly no bed bugs so that's a point in their favor as well as good service from the front desk but that's all they get.

Never again! Booked this property because it had a pool for the kids and a hot tub for me. Even at check in, huge LED sign out front advertising pool and hot tub. As soon as we checked in, we headed straight to the pool. I walked straight over to the hot tub. Jets were not working and the water was cold! Not only that, almost all of the pool furniture was broken! Some not only had missing screws, but other pieces had screws sticking out of them. Super unsafe. As for the room itself, it was ok as a whole. I know they are remodeling, but they have a long way to go. Towels and bedspread had stains on them. The promise of more towels never happened. Do yourself a favor and don't book this hotel! Stay on the WEST side of 75 in Richmond.

Last Saturday, my family threw my fiancé and I a wedding shower at this hotel and working with Hardy was one of the worst experiences ever. My mom booked the event space on May 2024 and confirmed that we would be able to use it all day. She spoke with Hardy a few days prior to our event who gave her permission to decorate the Friday before. However, on that Friday, he called my mother and told him that there was an event scheduled on Saturday - the same day as our event - that would end at 1 p.m. and we wouldn't be able to decorate the night before but could store items in their storage space. We understood and appreciated the accommodation EVEN THOUGH his notice was less than 24 hours in advance and not part of the original agreement. Then on Saturday - the day of our event - we came at 1 p.m. and the first event was not cleared out. I spoke with Hardy and asked him about it and he said "they will be done in about 15-20 minutes." So, we waited patiently. At 1:25 p.m., we asked him about it again to which he then changed the time AGAIN and said they had the room until 2 p.m. Fortunately, the first event group was wrapping up and they left before 2. But our event started at 3, so we were rushing and trying to decorate the space while already dressed for our event since some people who came to decorate traveled from far away. The two maintenance men - Jimmy and Larry? I think - were SO helpful. They moved the tables where we needed them and helped as much as they could. But the room was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Papers strew everywhere, debris, dust, dirt - it was disgusting. MY FATHER-IN-LAW vacuumed the space because the crew were unable to do that. He used the hotel's vacuum which broke in the middle of him using it so my father-in-law FIXED IT for them. We were still getting ready as guests were arriving at 3 p.m. because of Hardy's poor planning. He told us that the first group was there every first Saturday but they changed their mind and came on the second Saturday. Since we already had the room reserved for months, he should've accommodated our original agreement and not keep changing it last minute. He was the worst hotel manager I've ever worked with. He is polite in person, but is disorganized and untrustworthy. I do not recommend anyone use Best Western for their events. They also charged my mom $400 even though WE had to do most of the set up AND cleaning the space. The only saving grace is that the location was great for our family/friends that were traveling to see us. The maintenance men were helpful too. But I'm so mad at all the stress the manager's poor planning caused to my mom and our family.

After a long 11 hour shift and having to check in, I was told my room was on the first floor where the whole hall is full of construction renovation everywhere. After getting into my room, I did a thorough inspection. Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. Every corner, behind every piece of furniture. Even the sheets had some sort of blood/staining on them… stay clear of resting here.

Property is under renovation and there was furniture and equipment stored in hallways and outside. Floor in room was dirty and a/c did not work properly. Hotel should have offered a discount considering it was being renovated. Carpet in hallways to rooms was dirty with what looked line lots of caulk or paint on carpet. Breakfast was not at all great. Staff was decent. Ut never once alerted us yo the fact that hotel was under renovation. We had stayed at tbis property before but it definitely has gone down. Definitely would not consider this hotel in the future.
