Best Western Plus Waynesboro Inn & Suites Conference Center - Hotel in Waynesboro - 109 Apple Tree Ln, USA

The hotel's fire alarm went off at 10:30 p.m. and all hotel guests had to vacate the property and stand outside, many in their pajamas, in sub freezing temperatures and high winds. After approximately 15-20 minutes guests realized there was no fire so they re-entered the hotel via the lobby. The alarm was still ringing. Guests were not allowed back in their rooms, so they had to either remain in the lobby while the alarm blared or stand outside in freezing temps. There was a family in the lobby soaking wet, including two small children who were shivering and covered by towels. The cause for the fire alarm was a sprinkler that went off in a 2nd floor room. The hotel was unable to turn off the sprinkler or the alarm. By 11:00 p.m. water was flowing out of the ceiling of the first floor hallway. There was never any announcement made by the hotel, but by 11:30 p.m. residents decided on their own to return to their rooms. To get to the staircase guests had to walk under the waterfall that was flowing from the 1st floor ceiling. I got soaked, as did other guests. My clothes were so wet that I could not put them in my suitcase. By 11:35 p.m. I was back in my room. I had fallen asleep when at midnight my hotel room phone rang. A hotel worker said there was a noise complaint against my room. I said I was in the room alone and was sleeping, making zero noise, and he replied that he had made a mistake and had called the wrong room. He then hung up on me before I could reply. The entire experience was a disaster, from getting soaked, to being woken up at midnight by a hotel worker who called the wrong room. Stephen room #301 on 1/13/2024.

They messed up my reservation before I checked in, had to clear that up. They tried to cancel my keys to get into my room and I had one more night to stay, I was told they forgot I had another night. I was charged for six other peoples’ rooms and told the credit would take about a week to go back on my credit card. I was charged for amenities I never used. I stayed four nights and never got any clean towels and had to beg for more toilet paper. The room was not clean, as I was scared to walk on the floor with my bare feet. The staff was not professional at all. They didn’t seem to understand how to print the bill off on paper when I asked for a bill print out. Oh yes, I was itching for days after staying there. It makes my stomach turn thinking what was on the sheets that made me itch.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Waynesboro Va. The hotel amenities were excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. I slept like a baby and felt re-energized. Always like the hygiene supplies and the shower pressure was great. Breakfast was delicious and serving area was convenient. I enjoyed my stay. Great job BW+!

The room was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. Overall, though, this place needs freshened up and it needs a good cleaning. The water fountain looks crusty… there is Broken equipment in the tiny fitness center… with no disinfectant cleaner to be found to clean it before or after use (a BIG no no!) and the staff had to hunt for some when we requested it. Hand sanitizers also empty and the elevator sounds scary. The key cards took several attempts to work each time. The location is great… lots of nearby restaurants and attractions made it convenient for our plans but I doubt we would book here again.

I've stayed here a couple of times and each tune was perfect. Breakfast is great, rooms are pristine and comfortable, and it's very conveniently located. The Fishin Pig is also a great bar and restaurant located across the parking lot which is a very nice bonus!!!

The hotel seemed a bit dated but overall it was clean and comfortable. Some repairs may be needed in the rooms but they were still nice. It was nice to be able to take our dog with us. Would stay there again.

Not recommended. Rooms emitted a musty odor, rugs were not properly cleaned. I checked out 4 different rooms, they all had the same unclean smell. We decided to put up with it, but after discovering dirty underwear and shorts in a drawer that's when we checked out to move to another hotel. The uncleanliness at this point was pervasive. Upon checkout, without me even asking for a refund, the desk mgr immediately responded with "well you can't get your money back." I guess he's been through this before. I called today for the GM, went to voicemail; she did not return my call. Best Westerns are usually good, but not this location.

DON'T STAY AT THIS BRAND!!! I payed for room and then two days prior to arriving, we had to cancel due to extreme personal issue that arose only to be told sorry for your luck!!!! They will rob you blind just to make a buck, do yourself a favor and find a Marriott brand hotel that has better cleaner rooms as well as real customer service. Ps, this hotel should have negative stars but one it is I guess. Also to their response to this review... We had a death in the family, which led to the cancelation of this reservation! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! I understand non-refundable, but also understand exigent circumstance very well, and this was one of them. We requested a voucher for a later date stay and was denied by the useless workers that work this hotel and the manager that never seems to be at work! Again, stay at a Holiday Inn Express, you will be better served and the management will understand personal issues.
