Best Western Plus University Inn - Hotel in Winston-Salem - 3050 University Pkwy, USA

Our room was clean and quiet. Our only complaint would be the low water pressure in the shower. The staff was friendly and Miss Karen at the desk was awesome. It's a good location nearby to various things. There's a couple of restaurants next door. We would stay there again when in the area.

Requested a first floor room. when we arrived, we were told there was no king beds Available on the 1st floor. Were NOT offered another option. They put us on the highest floor fourth, at the farthest room at the end of the longest corridor.| only one elevator was working and it was tiny and shaky, Barely room for 2 people and a luggage cart.. The second elevator closer to our room was not operating| Pool looked cloudy that day, and no towels there. so we didn't go in. the next morning There was a sign on the counter, saying pool was closed. In the room, the shower curtain was moldy. The toilet seat was loose and you couldn't open or close the door if there was anyone in the bathroom or on the toilet. The windows draper was dry rotted and tattered. The cover for the air conditioner was halfway off and fell all the way off during the night. There was no hairdryer in the room so we had to go looking for 1 and were given a dirty one from another room. Missing coffes, no water but bathroom faucet. The hotel| was in a very questionable end of town. Beggars on the corners. Way below Best Western standards. The last time we stayed at a best western, it was similar conditions. would not recommend will never say there again.

We used this hotel when visiting Wake Forest University. It is conveniently located and very adequate for our purposes. The facility was clean and breakfast was good. It is showing some age but we were pleased. The only negative was the smell of pot in the parking lot. But that is the world we live in, unfortunately.

This hotel is in desperate need of maintenance and overhaul. Staff very nicely switched us to a different room as the first one had a large damp area on the carpet. Bath tub did not drain properly, faucets were mounted in reverse, door stopper had broken off the wall, window was very hard to open, phone was dead. Common areas were shabby, guest laundry facilities were broken which staff did not seem to be aware of. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. Breakfast was standard. We paid $320 per night (graduation weekend) and feel we vastly overpaid for a stay of such low quality.

Stayed about a week. The beds were comfortable with 3 pillows. The room was clean. The people working here were nice and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Bacon and sausage and gravy with biscuits were good. Love the big beautiful trees and spacious parking lot. The patio area was nice to sit and relaxing, reminding me of home.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming; however, the place is tired, the tv in our room did not work and no one seem to know how to fix it. One of the elevators was broken and the other one was dirty. One of our beds was missing the insert for the duvet coverlet and the bathroom was tiny and would only fit one person at a time. The ice machine was missing on our floor and what remained was some pipes. While it is convenient to Wake Forest University, I don't know that I would stay there again. It is tired looking and needs a serious refresh. The breakfast was good but they ran out of coffee and it was not replaced while we were sitting there.

Older hotel in need of some repair and some bug maintenance. Does not include comforters nor microwaves. When I asked for a comforter I was told I would have to wait for housekeeping on the morning. I asked again and we received an extra blanket that was only slightly thicker. Also. one night we could not get in because our room door was locked from the inside. The security latch was locked from the inside (it was loose and locked once the door was closed. We asked a front desk clerk for assistance and were told maintenance was gone for the day; thus we asked to speak to someone else who was able to get maintenance to Jimmy it open. Ww tightened the screws to the security lock on our own to avoid it happening again. Also, the curtains and shower need replaced.

Avoid this place if you can, it is probably one of the worst hotels I have experienced. It is old and in desperate need of an overhaul. More importantly it is dirty, and no one cares. Housekeeping serviced our room only once during our 4 days stay despite multiple requests (and that too because I was lucky to catch the staff cleaning a nearby room). I had to point out multiple areas they left uncleaned, and even then it was a shoddy job. Some lights in the room were not working (and looks like the adjacent room had the same problem), though they did run an extension cable and provide a temporary solution. The pool was not working during our entire stay; it was a horrible green color the day we arrived. Check-in was painfully slow with only one counter despite a huge line. Best Western should be ashamed running such a horrible hotel.
