Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel - Hotel in Silverdale - 3073 NW Bucklin Hill Rd, USA

I've stayed at this hotel three times, and after this most recent stay, I can't say there will be a fourth. The hotel is in need of serious remodeling/updating, which apparently has been going on for the las several years, not that you can tell from walking through the halls or into the rooms. The carpets (in the halls and in my room) were extremely dirty and smelled like a wet dog. The hair dryer in my room had a broken on/off switch, so the unit ran when plugged in and could only be turned off by unplugging it. The water pressure in the shower was very high, so if you want to feel what it's like to be pressure washed, you're in luck. As a bonus, the bathtub drained extremely slowly, so taking a 10 minute shower meant I'd be in ankle-deep water by the time I was done. The hotel website states that the rooms have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap dispensers, but they were all empty. When asked, hotel staff said they were out of stock. The refrigerator in my room also smelled like Chinese food that had a lot of garlic. Now for the good. The location is pretty good. The view on the water side is beautiful, and there are lots of places to eat close by. The breakfast buffet was great, as was the restaurant/lounge. The staff were pleasant and proactive if you had any issues. I had an issue with the A/C in my room during my stay. Alfonso spent an hour working on the in-room unit to no avail. It turned out one of the chillers had been shut down earlier in the day. He checked on it and got everything working. It also sounded like he was the only member of the maintenance staff on duty at the time because he kept getting calls from the front desk. Kid deserves a raise. Other than the state of the carpets and the smell in the fridge, the room was clean (bathroom, beds/sheets, etc.) The carpets need to be replaced immediately. Not shampooed, completely replaced. That would do a lot to improve the experience.

Best Western Silverdale is the 3rd Best Western we stayed in this week...by far the best...the staff were wonderful..helpful and friendly... Juan and Emma who prepared and served the complimentary breakfast were absolutely fantastic....friendly, helpful and just all around exemplary. Breakfast spread was impressive. My only complaint about the room, would be that the dark out drapes are not very effective...need to be heavier and darker. Other than that, very happy with our stay...and we will be back Melissa Hennegan

Our experience it this Best Western was below par. Tgere was only one person checking people and and she was overwhelmed. The rugs in the hallway were stained and discolored, the door looked damaged maybe in a fire. I could see light through it when it was closed, it was so warped. In the bathroom the soaps were mixed up. The body wash was conditioner and the conditioner was body wash. The tub did not drain. When we called the front desk and told them they said the custodial staff had left it was about 6:00. There was no manager on site. They gave us a new room but the new room was worse. It smelled like mildew, and the wall paper was pealing off the walls. We stayed in our original room and took showers in dirty water up to our angles. The front desk told me to talk to the manager in the morning. In the morning I was told that the manager would not be in until 10:00. I asked the manager to give me a call. Never heard from the manager after calling Best Western and asking for a refund. This hotel sent me a receipt with an adjusted bill subtracting $30. Never an apology. By the way the breakfast in the morning was fantastic in a dinning room over looking the water. This could be a great hotel but it needs new managers.

The all of the staff from today and yesterday, you were incredibly helpful and kind. Thank you. I understand there is reconstruction about to happen at this location but shampooing/sanitizing the carpets, sanitizing cleaning the bathrooms/jetted tubs, windows, pool, laundry appliances, everything should be cleaned top, bottom, under, around, and behind everything every day regardless while in business. Charging everyone $300 per night for a room and not keeping the place properly sanitized and cleaned for families, children, and pets is not safe and or cost effective even if the place isn’t super pretty it should be cleaned especially for the cost. But your staff is wonderful I will give that!

The Hotel is in a great location next to the water. While the hotel is undergoing renovations (all carpets need replacing), the staff are excellent and the rooms are very nice. The best part of the hotel is the morning breakfast buffet. Emma and her staff make everyone feel welcome and take care of making for a fabulous start to the day!

Breakfast was very cold. Was not attended to well if any until asked. Rubber eggs. Horrible selection of bread for toast. 3 partial pieces of very overcooked bacon that was awful. Everything was cold. The place was extremely dirty all over the floors. Speaking of that the entire hotel carpet needed to be replaced five years ago. Painting on the walls was extremely dirty and dingy. Obviously the hotel has not been updated for many many years. The wood in multiple places was completely dried out and in other places there was cleaning fluid running on the inside walls of the elevator. The more I think about it, I may need to change my rating above to be lower. For a Best Western plus I was extremely disappointed for having to spend 200+ dollars. The more I write this. The more I think I’ll just send this to the corporate office. I asked for a 50% rebate but I doubt I hear anything. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT & OWNERSHIP!!

Conveniently located near the Washington State Ferry, the Naval base and local shopping and dinning area of Silverdale is a plus but, what I like most is the proximity and access to the bay. Being able to enjoy the beautiful view of the water and mountains is great but it is even better when you can walk on the shore and feel pebbles, sand and hear the water crashing. I also enjoy the walking paths around the property.

For the price, I was very disappointed in the room. The cushion was missing from the back of the chair. The room only had one chair for two people to watch television. The soap/shampoo dispensers were either broken or empty, because the only dispenser that I was able to get anything out of was the conditioner one. The view was nice, but not worth the price we paid, in my opinion. But, a shout out to the lady who checked us in on the early evening shift. She was friendly and informative. She said they were beginning renovations, so maybe it will be nice when they are all finished.
