Best Western Plus Savannah Airport Inn & Suites - Featured Reviews (1190)
This was a last minute choice of hotels for 18 Girl Scouts and their moms, as Tropical Storm Debby caused the state park where we were staying to close. The staff was helpful and accommodating and the facility was clean (the state park cottages had cockroaches, so having clean rooms was a relief!) and had everything we needed for four nights of fun and activity. The girls enjoyed the cookies in the lobby, and the adults appreciated the water cooler as well. A special shout out goes to Samantha, the exceptionally sweet, kind, and caring housekeeper, for her special attention to us during our stay. She even arranged our pillows and blankets (and a stuffed animal) from home - it was like being at Disney World coming into the room each evening to see how cute she made the bed. Thank you to the entire staff for all their courtesy, and for their tolerance of a large group of Girl Scouts all over the hotel! Bonus: the hotel was far closer to all of our scheduled (and rescheduled) events in Savannah than the state park was!
Not recommended!!! Read reviews, and then I like to read most recent reviews, which gave me some hope that the facility had improved. unfortunately, this Best Western gives Best Western a bad name. It was kind of iffy when I walked in even more iffy when we went into the room, and there was a big giant cockroach in the middle of the floor. To say the least we immediately gathered our things and presented the front desk with the Giant cockroach and requested a full refund..They do not know how to clean. Spray cleaner on bathroom floor and filthy doors and windows all over. Beware!!!
The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is that there was a room available at 3am. Now I know why. The hotel stunk to high heavens with whatever concoction of cleaners and oils used. The lobby, the hallway, the room. It was so bad, that we almost turned around and continued our journey to Florida. The solution was to sleep right next to the air vent, so we could smell musty-filtered air instead. The hotel was dirty. Elevator was trashed. Food on the hallway floor. Complimentary breakfast was not what you’d typically expect. Safe to say, we took showers and ran fast out of that hotel. We could still smell the remnants of the hotel on us back to Florida.
Smells musty. Was supposed to stay entire week but company had to switch hotels because it was that uncomfortable. First room air didn’t work & attendant told me to get on my knees & look under unit to reset the unit. I was switched to another room & as i settled in another guest tried to enter the run. Luckily i had the deadbolt on. The attendant assigned another guest the same room. Every-time i left the room the key did not work for me to re-enter. My co-worker actually had a pair of underwear hanging on his bathroom door when he checked in. After 2 days my company cancelled the reservation & we went Holiday Inn Express.
If I can give 0 stars. Stopped here on our way north.
Killed 3 cockroaches, one of them crawled on the wall while I was playing with my 6m old. No bed bugs, I checked. Carpet was filthy. The door frame of the bathroom was loose and screws were sticking out. They throw some weird scent on the bed sheets that in combo with thr mildew smell in the room makes you want to vomit. It was very late at night for us to switch rooms. I will be calling DOH at this so called hotel.
We checked into our room and was pleasantly surprised by a giant Cockroach, needless to say we have checked out and left to another hotel. The place smells of cleaner of some kind and the bathroom floor had some kind of greasy spray stuff on the floor, very unkept place and would advise going elsewhere. They did offer a full refund.
On June 21, 2024, my family and I traveled to Savannah to see the sites, celebrate our birthdays, and enjoy the city. Upon our arrival, the manager seemed to be friendly as well as the staff. However, once I got to my room and saw the condition of it, then it was a different story. The comforter had stains on it, and the sheets had blood stains. I was moved to a second room which wasn't clean and had huge roaches. I was then moved to a third room. This room had a very large, wet brown stain on the floor under the sink, the tub was stopped up, and the room above me had a large family with very active children that made noises most of the night. I reported all of this to the staff and was told the manager would be in the next morning at 8am. A very kind house keeper, Samantha, was sympathetic enough to clean the room for me and also reported it to the front desk as well. Thank you, Sanantha. The following morning, AJ, the manager was unavailable .. all day! I left my cell number, but never received a call from him. He avoided us and we were given the runaround, from him, until the following day. I would like to thank Cindy for stepping up and returning my call. She stepped up in a professional manner and tried to resolve the problem. She stated that she had credited my account for one night. Upon checking out, we noticed the the receipt was only for 1/2 of the night stay. She did her part but the manager would only allow 1/2 of the room rate. When he was told that I did not stay in the room that night, he just stood there with nothing to say. He was not concerned about our stay or anything else. He was unprofessional, rude, and quite juvenile. He never apologized for not returning until it was brought to his attention 3 times. This was the worst experience that I've ever had at a hotel. At the end, he finally credited me a full night's stay and apologized. It was a bit too late! We wasted almost an hour going back and forth with him. When the desk clerk called him to assist her because she couldn't find my receipt, he never came. I asked to speak with him on the phone, but when she told him, he hung up on her. When tbought that he wasn't in the hotel. We were shocked when he finally showed up. This experience was so unnecessary.
I found that the room was clean and well furnished. However, I realize that the hotel was recently renovated and that the negative reviews may have been posted before the renovation. The breakfast was one of the best I have had at similar hotels.
